“Perfect - recommend the Exquisite Victorian highly!”
+This was such a treat! Beautiful home where we not only had a lovely, comfortable room but were able to use most all parts of the house and the gardens. The kitchen was available to guests to prepare their own food and had a great coffee bar. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Our only regret was that we were only there one night. Highly recommend!

“I had trouble finding it in the dark, better lighting in the driveway would improved that.”
+It was disappointing at first to learn that the hosts were not there and that Saturday Breakfast would not be served. But I lucked into meeting a lovely couple who were also staying and so it was great.

+Stayed in Lincoln room with a huge bathroom! Just the feeling of walking on this fluffy rug was like walking on clouds! Bed was so cozy and comfortable, I literally felt like a princess! If you are near Springfield, you have to stay there. Thank you so much Cal and Dan!

+Very comfortable stay in a lovely house. Meeting Cal and Dan was special - they're so friendly it's like spending the night and morning with long-time friends. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends and family.

“Perfect spot to begin our weeklong journey from Springfield, IL to Springfield, MO.”
+The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident the moment you walk into the home. I was traveling with my 96-year-old mother, and she absolutely loved looking at the photos and artwork in the rooms and the rest of the house. The grounds are peaceful and the perfect place to drink a morning coffee is on the porch overlooking a garden area and gazebo.
−There was nothing that I did not like. Our host took time to talk with us and even invited my mother to play the grand piano. Coffee was ready early in the morning, which we really enjoyed.

“One night in Springfield.”
+OMG! it was breathtaking and surreal. Host were very down to earth and entertaining. Enjoyed coffee in the a.m. and stayed an extra hour just to visit with them both. If I ever travel that way again I will definitely return to that beautiful experience. Thank you Cal and Dan for taking care of this lone traveler.
−I wish I had arrived earlier to walk the grounds. It was magical in the dusk.

+We were lucky to be there on a Saturday when Dan cooked an amazing goumet breakfast. It was fun to break bread with the hosts and the other guests. Cal and Dan were perfect hosts and made our stay special. They have a beautiful house and we appreciated having outdoor space to walk around and enjoy the butterflies.. The bed was very comfortable. We did not mind sharing the bathroom at all. Perfect start to our wedding anniversary trip. Very close to the Lincoln Memorial gardens. Would definitely stay again

+very clean and well maintained house. The owners live there so they were available if anything came up but not obtrusive at all. It's clear they take pride in providing excellent hospitality.
−Sharing a bathroom with another guest room isn't ideal but it's an old house and it was disclosed in the listing so I knew what I was signing up for.
