“Beautiful manor in a lovely setting, with fabulous staff”
+We loved our stay. We stayed in the lodges because we had our dog with us. The manor and the country side surroundings were stunning and we had a lovely walk through the woods. The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were a lovely bonus! The best thing??.. the lovely staff, everyone was so friendly kind and helpful! From the leisure centre staff, the bar lady, reception and restaurant staff! All were wonderful!
−Nothing really to dislike, possibly the menu choice a bit limited but it was certainly tasty!

“Good but not a 4 stars hotel”
+Wonderful old Manor House. Grounds were peaceful. Room was of a decent size. Free car parking and had EV charging. Virtually all staff were approachable and really friendly. Food (breakfast and dinner) was ok but nothing special. Liked the photos of local areas along the bedroom corridors.
−A bit dated / needs modernising as it seems more like a 3 star hotel than a 4 star. The bar / sitting area layout in particular needs attention in order to evoke a much more inviting and cosy atmosphere to sit, drink, chat, read and admire the view. Could also do with some pictures in the stairwells as it looked very bare. Dinner menu was a little limiting and the same each night. One member of staff was quite grumpy (no smile and looked very put out when we asked for another drink!).

+Great Location, central to visitor attractions. Great breakfast, plenty of choice, lovely staff. Impressive Manor, steeped in history.
−Wifi was non existent, room had a seperating door from next room so could hear everything, including snoring. 51 steps up to room, not recommended for people with mobility issues. Cobwebs in room suggests quick cleans rather than deep ones. Place needs a lick of paint here and there. No spa treatments availability even though I rang ahead in advance compred to other hotels.
