“Stay away.”
+Location was the only redeeming quality.
−There was no heat during the day despite cold temps outside, thus the room was cold. The floor had a significant unevenness to it, making the bed “tilt” to one side. The mattress felt like it was discarded by the priests at Jedburgh Abbey. There was no staff or lights on in common areas over the weekend. The room had two chairs, neither of which were comfortable. In short, there’s no way I’d recommend this hotel or stay there again

“Quite town break with lots of history and good food”
+The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the middle of town, lots of the historic places to visit an easy stroll, good food places close to hand as well and the parking behind the hotel adequate - good breakfast and great hosts - overall a good hotel experience in a lovely part of Scotland
−The shower was a little temperamental - difficult to get right temperature and the drain from the shower blocked a little - these were manageable.

“Good stay overall”

“friendly, comfortable, and nice brekky”
+the owner (I assume since he did everything) was absolutely lovely. very pleasant, great dinner recommendation (go to the local Indian restaurant - SUPERB food). Rooms were clean and nice, and it was quiet. I would stay there again without hesitation.

“Nice”
+De host is een supervriendelijk man. Het gebouw is een imposant gebouw. Verzorgd ontbijt. Ligging in het centrum.
−De badkamer kan wel wat vernieuwing gebruiken.

“Enjoyable stay in historic building”
+Friendly staff, good breakfast, characterful building

+Nice clean room and comfortable bed. On the high street in a central location but not noisy at all. Breakfast was nice, coffee very good
−Bar was very dated and no restaurant.
