“A well managed hotel that offers comfort and high standards of accommodation and catering.”
+Two rooms booked; both more than met our needs. Because of a family member suffering from a cold the manager arranged a third room at short notice to meet our requirements. Staff were friendly and most helpful.. They resolved unexpected problems quickly and in a pleasant manner. We enjoyed three breakfasts for each of us as well as dinners on one evening. The food was prepared and presented well; each one of five of us enjoyed their dinners. During a power failure that impacted heating and meals the manager and his staff responded quickly and effectively provided alternative arrangements. THis is a well managed and staffed hotel. We intend to return to visit our friends in Forres; we will book rooms at The Ramanee

“Nice building but I prefer to decide my breakfast appetite on the morning”
+Location was convenient for my needs. Accommodation was comfortable and warm
−Pre booking breakfast the previous evening, restrictive evening dining and lounge bar hours, a bit too structured for my idea of a good small holiday hotel

“A bit of an embarrassment to Scottish hospitality to be honest”
+Bed was comfy and I had a good sleep
−I was the only person in the restaurant/bar at 9pm. The bartender lady was helpful in so much as she advised me that she was closing-up and would I like another drink but the place was pretty dismal. My bedroom was cold hence the reason I went down to the public bar. When I checked-in I was carrying a large handbag, laptop bag and suitcase. There is no lift and the person on reception (the owner, I think) did not offer to help me with my bags.

“Fabulous grand hotel full of old charm.”
+Charming older hotel, our room was clean and spacious with views over the gardens. Food in the evening was exceptional and worth staying in for. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
“It feels like a coat & tie atmosphere but come as you are”
+We felt like royalty staying at the Ramnee.
