“Comfortable room above a pub.”
+Great location for hiking, which was the purpose of our stay. Room was clean and warm, comfortable bed and good size bathroom.
−Didn’t realise we’d need to go elsewhere for breakfast - although this wasn’t a problem as there are plenty of cafes close by. A bit disappointed that the tea / coffee facilities in the room weren’t replenished or the cups changed. Also with the full height windows looking out onto the pub garden a net curtain would have been helpful, especially as there was a scaffolding walkway outside our window and we didn’t know if workers would be outside!

“Fabulous place to stay”
+Bed was very comfortable, whole building had lots of character, staff were really nice, location was perfect for my itinerary
+Lovely old fashioned room in fastastic and friendly bar. Really good value.
−Nothing to dislike, but wouldn’t suit all. Room is a bit dated and rough round the edges, but fine with us and hey, thank goodness not all places are modern and slick…

“Great location but avoid room 4”
+Location was great and decent pub. Park8ng across the road was very helpful.
−Hidden charges for having a pet. It should be clear in the pricing. Having to use a metal fire escape to access between 12 midnight and 10am was not great.especially as our room window opened onto it. Also the kitchen noise was loud and the extra fan is bolted to the external wall at the bed headboard position so the constant droning was a bit of a pain. Avoid room 4 is my advice.
+Room was large: sheets clean, shower efficient
−Host not very welcoming Host didn't respond to my questions on email at all. Convoluted way of getting out of hotel between 11 and 8 in the morning.

“Our stay was ok but could have been a lot better with better management.”
+Location was great. Allocated parking space. Meals were good although no breakfast offered. Bar staff were helpful.
−Room was uncomfortable. Towels and toiletries were not routinely replaced. Had to ask bar staff. Room cleaning was sporadic. Noisy at times but this was expected as room was above main bar.
+Amazing stay!! The room was incredible, four poster bed and a big window with doors that open wide overlooking the garden (and a view of the castle) Room and bathroom were clean. Fresh towels, kettle etc all great condition. Perfect location, staff were accommodating and so so friendly! The pub downstairs was lovely, so cosy and rustic. Parking was great, with a space assigned to your room number. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return in the future.
