“Not the best value for money.”
+Beautiful lobby, with sweets and cakes available there at 5pm. Advertised at 4pm which would have been a better time. Lovely evening food in the Caramelle restaurant.
−We had an enormous bed but the bed linen didn’t fit it. Breakfast disappointing, they’d heard of decaf coffee but no hot chocolate available. Also it was the worse selection of fruit salad at breakfast from all the hotels we’ve stayed in so far. More Premier Inn than Movenpick. It’s pricey so you expect excellence.

+I really enjoyed my stay at Mövenpick Samarkand. The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere, with clean, spacious, and comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly, professional, and attentive. The location is excellent, and the breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. Everything was well organized, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again!

−The cleaning was unacceptable. The cup with a tea bag stayed for 3 days unwashed. Stains from the water on the floor as well. The last day the room wasn’t cleaned at all. No side table lamps, which is very uncommon for this kind of hotel. The curtains smelled cigarette.

“Avoid this overpriced hotel”
+The location
−For the ridiculously high price I paid for the room, I was expecting a lot more from this hotel. It started with the not so welcoming and friendly receptionist. I'm not sure if it's an Uzbekistani culture norm, but she was not friendly at all. Upon checking in to the room, we saw that the room was initially meant for two twin beds. However, they pushed those two beds together to make it seem like king size bed. Sleeping in the middle of the bed was not ideal as it was laying on top of the edges of the two mattresses. The room was old and worn down. You can hear the people above you when they walked. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, good luck. The lock on the door didn't work. The water temperature changed in the middle of showering. Starts hot, got warm, then cold, then back to hot again. As if it's going in a circle. The iron ruined a shirt as rusty stuff came out of the iron. I am extremely disappointed at what I was given for the amount I paid. Unbelievably overpriced. DO NOT pay to stay at this mess of a hotel.
