+Lovely hotel. Very atmospheric. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent..lots of variety and beautifully presented

+Breakfast was fine, the bed was comfortable. The location and building very nice.

+The evening meals, the location close to Whalley and Clliheroe, the suite, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff
−Given the amount we paid, we thought there would be dressing gowns and slippers in the bedroom

−The lack of staff anywhere near the desk at both check in and check out. They seemed more concerned about socialising at the bar area. The room could have done with some pile lorry in the carpet. The half 4 wake up call that you would get from any of the front facing rooms as the bin men arrived then again at half 7.

+Beautiful hotel, in a beautiful setting. Loved the history of the building that is so very obvious and visual in all of its surroundings. It is very successful in mixing old with new too
