“Cosy room, but noisy construction, lack of privacy and disappointing dining”
+The styling of the room is very well thought out, creating a cosy, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The design feels intentional, with a nice balance of style and comfort, making it a lovely place to relax during our stay.
−Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay fell short of expectations based on how the property was advertised. The room was advertised with an ocean view, including from the spa, but black shade cloth had been installed to block the neighbouring construction site, obstructing the expected view. Construction was also disruptive: the open-air bathroom exposed the shower and toilet area to workers view. We were woken by chainsaws operating about 20 metres from the villa, as well as a cement mixer and loud conversations. The spa appeared poorly maintained, with yellowish, unpleasant-smelling water that raised concerns about its cleanliness and treatment. People on the pathway behind the room could see into the spa area compromising privacy. Dinner was also disappointing: the tomahawk steak was undercooked and excessively fatty, making it difficult to enjoy. Although the room was cosy and thoughtfully styled, the obstructed view, lack of privacy, construction noise, spa condition and disappointing meal significantly detracted from our experience.
