“A jewel in the heart of Devonshire.”
+This hotel might not appeal to everybody--it was an old but well taken care of structure, with a long history, originally an 18th century coach stop. We absolutely loved it, from the late 18th century decor, historical pictures on the walls, excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the multitude of comfortable, friendly sitting areas through out the ground floor. Only regret that it was still too warm to have a fire blazing in the fireplace. The location suited us, right in the midst of beautiful Dartmoor Natl Park, with easy access to a walking trail. The staff was great--from front desk to restaurant staff. Delighted to see the welcoming party of geese and that dogs were welcomed. A very homey atmosphere.
−This isn't really a complaint, it was sometimes a challenging drive for Americans not used to driving on narrow country lanes. But, that's what we bargained for in order to see the spectacular Devon countryside. I would be happy to return.

“Dog friendly hotel”
+Dog friendly and loved the history and location in heart of Dartmoor. We had breakfast included which made such a difference.
−Plug in bath wasn't working properly and the toilet didn't always flush.
