“Hugely disappointing 3 night stay. At 850 dollars per night we thought this woukd be one of our highlights in New Zealan”
+The host Heidi was very welcoming
−The location is a real issue - set back just 30 metres from the number 1 expressway on one side and a freight railway line on the other - the noise from traffic is unacceptable and not mentioned. This is not ‘5 star Luxury accommodation’. At best 3 star. It is a guest house and facilities in the room we stayed in (Dormer Room) were basic and very dated. Whilst the house is old and characterful the rooms are in serious need of renovation/upgrade. For example the room was very hot 28c and no air conditioning; The bed was uncomfortable and didnt feel like it had been upgraded in last 30 years; carpet old and stained. Despite asking for a change of room or refund we were told this would not be possible.

“A beautiful retreat; tranquil and elegant, with caring and warm hospitality.”
+Beautiful elegant property with great attention to detail, situated in the countryside just outside Blenheim off the main road south. An old gracious villa, with a lovely garden and trees, a verandah to sit out and enjoy the ambiance, and interiors tastefully decorated with antique styles. Operates in the style of a lodge with public areas to enjoy. A very restful choice if you are happy to relax with a book rather than a TV, or want to range out each day exploring the surrounding wine district. Absolutely delicious breakfast with special homemade touches, served around the table in the elegant dining room. Room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and thoughtful additions. Our hostess Heidi was charming and helpful - one of those special people who exude warmth and caring hospitality. She has put a huge amount of thought and effort into creating this haven. An absolutely lovely stay, we were very sorry to leave.

“Wonderful stay”
+We loved our stay at The Peppertree. Heidi and Werner were the perfect hosts. Our room was nice with a large bathroom and comfortable bed. Extras such as turn-down chocolates were appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic and largely homemade. We enjoyed chatting to the other guests and Heidi creates a lovely atmosphere where everyone feels like family!
