“Terrible.”
+Location - it is right by the train station.
−Everything else. Upon arrival we were checked into our room and put our things away, but due to attending a party had to leave fairly quickly. We had a key to let ourselves into the back door if the pub had shut. We came back to the pub/inn at 22:50, and the pub was completely shut (despite check-in being until 23:00, and online it said it shuts at midnight). We went round to the back and the key did not work for the door, and we were locked out overnight... without our belongings! We tried phoning, left emails, etc, but no response. We had to book another hotel for the night, and had no belongings, which we had to collect at 9am the following morning. The lack of responsiveness from the staff was not appreciated, especially since they gave us a key that did not work. Thankfully Booking.com helped us get a full refund the same night which went towards the new hotel.

“Unsafe, filthy, and dishonest management.”
+Great location. Central to the bars and restaurants.
−We had an awful experience and could not stay in our room. Upon arrival, we found stained bed sheets, and the entire bedroom smelled like raw sewage, coming from the bathroom. Aside from the lack of cleanliness, we felt very unsafe. People downstairs in the bar area were openly doing drugs and falling asleep in the bar. The manager promised us a full refund for the terrible conditions, but they have completely ignored us since and never sent the money. Very disappointed.

−Lots of items on stairs and corridors could cause a problem in case of emergency exit. Because it was above a pub there was noise the first night till 0100 and the second night one of the residents caused noise at 0330 for approximately an hour.

“Dirty grubby and certainly not child friendly”

−Where do i start. We made a booking of 3 adults 2 children 2 rooms, as we booked in the landlord told us under no circumstances were children allowed in the bar or beer garden at Any time. My daughters room was grubby with one bed the slats had gone the bed was ready to collapse, they put a sheet of hard plywood under the mattress it was like sleeping on the floor. Our room was no better stains on the carpet ,smelly and dirty. We had a TV bracket on the wall but NO TV.. our bedroom window was held open by a cup lodged under it. All in all please don't waste your money on this accommodation

−Cleanliness. Non existent. I had to clean the toilet prior to using it. The toilet had a leak around the base. Side of the toilet was disgusting. Bugs and stains on the bathroom floor. Thick dust on the top of the headboard, bedside table lamp and woodwork. Stains on the duvet cover and pillow cases so checked the bed. Bugs in the bed. I checked the website and no other rooms were available so I left the keys on the bed and walked straight back out again. I’ve asked for a refund via the property and booking.com as £85 for that room I was in for less than an hour. It’s a shame I can only post 4 photos as I’ve got 15 😡😡

−Run down area Not a nice part of the town No parking No restaurant/Evening meal No breakfast No local restaurants for evening meal within walking distance Very over priced for the facilities and area

−The cleanliness standards were extremely poor, with the property appearing unclean and not as advertised. The overall condition of the hotel left us feeling uneasy, and we did not feel confident that it would be a safe or comfortable place to stay.
