+The hotel ia very old and has history, so it's fair not to be harsh on it. For what it is, the hotel was a very nice place to stay at. Even with the bar juat below our room, the patrons were very respectful of the the people staying in the hotel. Great view of the Harbour from our room.
−Very small shared kitchen.

“2nd Honeymoon”
+Just the vibe, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, felt like we were in another country gave us a chance to really wind down and relax, meals were great, accommodation was decent and the people were friendly and welcoming definitely have to book again and stay abit longer
−Not much,it is an old town so don't expect 5star accommodation but met our needs just fine if I could pin point one thing it was probably the seagulls chasing us for our sandwiches during the day😂😂

“I travel on an oily rag, this establishment fits the bill not the RITZY but very comfortable and convenient 🤙👉”
+Quant, beautiful surroundings plenty of food options. What I really enjoyed is the simplicity of checking in, friendly staff and the locals make the stay a very memorable experience
−🤔 nothing actually I’ll be returning to far north for another adventure

“Except some eccentricities given the hotel’s age and history. Clean, tidy, quiet, stunning harbour views.”
+No fuss. Historic hotel right on the water in quaint, historic Mangonui. Stunning views of the harbour from the balcony. Expected the eccentricities of a building of this age, and while the room did not have a private ensuite, it was right across the hall. The rooms were clean, the furniture and furnishings adequate, the linen clean and the tv with Netflix.

“Arrived after booking the room, no one was aware of the room booking, waited and finally got the room, the rest is histo”
+Location and the fact that was an old historical building.
−The room… smelled terrible of fish and chip shop, cleaning was poor, wooden doors to the outside area didn’t had a lock, the only acceptable thing was the shared bathroom.

“Comfortable stay in historic pub.”
+Good value. Comfortable bed. Was pleased to find a guest kitchen so we could make a simple breakfast for ourselves.
−Would have like a guest lounge or even just a small seating area so we could have a cuppa or breakfast without one person having to sit on the bed.

“Would think twice about this accommodation next time”
+Location
−Confustion over pricing issue as wrong room was allocated to what was issued from the site but they did accept what was allocated with a phone call to the manager

“Comfortable”
+The beds were so comfy.
−The shower head was directed at the wall and it was difficult to alter the water temperature.

“Beds were clean and comfortable, needs heating, and new window dressings would go a long way.”
+We didn't get breakfast, and the restaurant was closed last night, so we walked down the road to find another. The linen was very good. And we were thankful for the electric blanket, that we found an extension cord in cupboard as electric plug was across the room.
−No heating in the rooms. Bathroom freezing cold, shower pathetic. We had to upgrade the single bedroom which was very inadequate. Curtains and blinds very dilapidated and carpet needs cleaning. Big stains in the upgraded room we paid $160 for.
