“Beestachtig goed.”
+Schitterende ambiance, en een prachtige host. Amerikaanser dan dit krijg je het niet. Niet heengaan als je niet van opgezette dieren houdt Mexicaans restaurant aan de overkant.
−Als er op de website had gestaan dat er geen ontbijt en geen restaurant was. Daar zoek je toch vaak de plek op uit en als het er staat maar er niet is, valt dat tegen.

“We'd certainly recommend and return again for a really great value and more local experience.”
+The owner, Steve, was super friendly and offered us our first round of beers in the bar upon check-in. His daughter Heather showed us the room and how to adjust the heater. The king bed was super spacious and very comfortable. The decor is very 'grandma's house meets a hunting lodge' but it was clean and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. It was a really laidback, small town, and the lobby bar is akin to a great dive bar vibe with folks playing free pool, darts, a jukebox and really cheap drinks (think beers for about $4-$6 each). We happened to be staying the night in this 10 room B&B with a motorcycle crew that was passing through and they were a fun and friendly group to chat with. There were also several folks in their 30's or so who seemed like they were either passing through on a weekend getaway to the Catskills or could be new locals to the area.
−The one option for dining nearby happened to be a really great Mexican restaurant across the street. The only downside was that, even on a Saturday, their staff was ready to close both the kitchen and do last call at 8:30pm so we raced over to place an order minutes after checking in. We did discover a few more late night bar options within 10 minutes drive but food options after 8:30pm in the area are super limited and driving on the winding roads after sunset in an area we were unfamiliar with was not the easiest.

+The room was clean, the sheets were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The whole place did not smell bad at all. Some older properties have a funky smell but that was not the case here. The staff were very friendly, nice and polite. Made you feel comfortable and welcome.
−The outside did not match the pictures at all. If it was dark we would have driven right by. I think they might have used AI to enhance the outside or it was a very old picture. But I would stay there again.

“Despite mixed reviews, this stay has been the most enjoyable and memorable of our 18 day road trip.”
+The owner Steve is the most genuine, generous man I’ve ever met, we really enjoyed meeting him, listening to his life experiences and having a drink with him. If I’m ever back in the area, I would book back in here to see the place again.

+This place has the delightful confidence to be unapologetically itself,and that's exactly its magic. Equal parts quirky hideaway and cozy hometown treasure, it's tucked just far enough off the beaten path to feel like you've stumbled onto a secret, while still being close enough that adventure is always within easy reach. Come for the peaceful sleep, stay for the local character. A hidden gem!
