+Our weekend stay at Monkey Thorn was perfect. The unit was clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The highlight was the stunning outdoor area, which was ideal for morning coffees and private pool for evening unwinding. The location was peaceful yet convenient, making it the perfect. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and communication was seamless from start to finish. We only wish we could have stayed longer and will be booking again.

“Beautiful Cottages and gardens, we loved our stay!!”
+Monkey Thorn cottages are beautifully designed. We loved the layout of the cottages and all the facilities. The Rock pool was a real treat and we loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the birdcalls. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and the rooms were immaculate.

+The way their cottage is designed…10/10
−I was expecting more child friendly and safe sleeping options like a cot bed or secure bed…granted the addition of kids to the trip was last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, however, there was an additional charge and I was under the impression that they would be catered for. There was a couch with day beds there but there were no side rails and I did not feel comfortable letting my 3 and 6 year old sleep there alone. Just mentioning this so things can be done a bit differently for other guests with young kids.

“Convenient, beautiful & relaxing.”
+It is so close to Johannesburg and Pretoria, perfectly situated for a quick couples weekend getaway. The facilities are top class, there is privacy, the owners are friendly and accommodating. The surroundings are beautiful - we even saw waterbuck as we sat drinking our coffee on the porch! The nearby Italian restaurant’s food is incredible, and highly recommended. This is definitely at the top of one of our favorite places to take a break and relax.
