„Dingy hostel that will leave you feeling uneasy to unsafe.“
+The property is situated in a very nice area and the owner seemed quite pleasant. The property is easily accessible from the subway and it is near to a nice park with a great view of the Toronto skyline. There is a communal guitar.
−Staying in this property is more like a sleepover than a hostel. You walk up some stairs into the property, which has no lobby area or check-in desk, just a living room type area. There is no natural light at all inside the property outside of the bedroom, giving the communal spaces a dingy-feel. The bathroom has a shower which has a peeling ceiling and mold, it is lit with a ring light and there is a blackout curtain covering the window. The room in which I stayed in was effectively the owners bedroom, he was staying there seemingly permanently and his belongings were piled up into the room, making it messy and cluttered. One guest appeared to me to be clearly under the influence of drugs after a strange interaction I had where he went to the bathroom without shutting the door, and then spoke complete nonsense to me. I felt uneasy at best and unsafe at worse throughout my stay in this hostel, which as a 6'5" male is the first time this has ever happened to me, despite staying in numerous hostels in both Europe and South America. I would encourage people, especially women, to seek alternative accommodation within the city.

„Zen Hostel Review“
+The location is perfect, being right on Danforth.
−I stood at the door for over 20 minutes, waiting for someone to answer the door.
