„Great location; brilliant staff.“
+Superb location. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Meals in the restaurant were excellent. Well stocked bar and great bar staff. Lovely old, atmospheric building.
−Automatic light in the shower room! Heating wasn’t on when we arrived so room was cold. In fairness, the staff put it on when requested

„A comfortable hotel with more character than the usual chain motorway offering and an excellent evening meal.“
+Booked this as a stopover on the way to Northern Scotland. It was easy to find an only a few minutes from the motorway.
−No lift, but we were offered assistance with our luggage.

„My stay was enjoyable: a QUALIFIED success.“
+The reception was welcoming. My room was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
−There was no evening meal available in the hotel; this might not have been a problem had other eating establishments been plentiful - however, as it was a Sunday, many were closed. I couldn’t not operate the shower to produce water! I later found a printed guide (apparently much used) in the information folder, but even then i couldn’t get it to work.

„Quality hotel in a lovely Borders Town.“
+Lovely hotel, welcoming and friendly staff, set in the centre of Moffatt, which is very pretty. We were upgraded to Room 1, which was a lovely, spacious and well-equipped room. Nicely decorated public areas with pretty gardens. Excellent breakfast.
−Sadly, my dinner that evening was poor, I complained and wasn't charged, thankfully. My husband's dinner was fine though so maybe the chef had a bad evening.
