„Read the bad reviews they're not lying.“
+The young ginger lad was polite
−We didn't like any of it, so we left early and booked something else due to everything being dirty, the bedroom was very run down, bubbled wall paper, dusty old lampshades, old tele with a minging sticky remote, the bed had pubes in it and the carpets had bits all in them. We arrived late so we couldn't organise anything else that night. The next day the same problem with breakfast the staff wasn't friendly, then it took us ages to find somewhere to sit that wasn't filthy, the cutlery wasn't clean, the juice dispenser clearly just got refilled and never cleaned out. And the full breakfast wasn't good at all cheap grizzly sausages, boiled mushrooms and the fried eggs we like bullets. The whole venue smells and is filthy, the place needs a good clean and a window opening. We checked out early and the receptionist didn't even bother to ask why, I can only assume he knew that charging people £250 for a run down, filthy room in the attic and a foul smelling dirty hotel is enough reason.

+Great location for visiting places in the North East. Lovely food served in the casual restaurant.
−The bathroom was semi glazed and people could see inside. The weather was warm however the window would not open fully.

„A lovely place to stay, we used it as an overnight stop off en-route from Bedfordshire to Edinburgh“
+The hotel setting and the building itself is lovely. The room was good and comfortable, but, the bathroom is in need of a bit of attention. However, the dinner more than made up for any negative thoughts. The menu on hotel web site didn't do justice to the range of delicious food on offer. Very good breakfast too.. I would definitely stay again.
−The food service was very good, however I would prefer to order at the table and not the bar. (Personal preference)

„Pleasant but would not come again.“
+It was a pleasant hotel, rather small, but maintained and cosy. The bathroom was amazing, all new.
−It was very cold, there was no heating and the beds were too small for two people, the floor was very loud. The doors were also quite poor and the attic rooms have short ceilings and very small stairs up to them.
