−Outside the hotel door, dirty streets and rats. They just leave trash out when they close and the rats are everywhere. Huge ones. It’s so unsanitary I will never go back to the Trevi fountain area. I traveled somewhere else and came back for one last night before I went to the airport. Hotel Fontana sent me to Botique Hotel Trevi five minutes walking because they said my room had water damage which is definitely a lie. The room they put me in was full of mold, water damage, disgusting and not clean. She on top of the mattress and the pillow was atrocious no Wi-Fi.! I just got this hotel up and it is $355 for one night. You have to be kidding me what a racket.

«Lovely Old Hotel - Book for the view at Breakfast.»
+The location was fantastic. Right by the Trevi Fountain. The Breakfast Buffet was expansive and start time of 7am was spot on.
−The Room I had was very small - I appreciate it was a single room but it was very cramped and had no windows that you could see out. The bathroom was very tiny and you could not have a shower properly.

+I absolutely loved my stay at hotel Fontana. I stayed 8 days, and here are all the things I loved. The reception staff were lovely. The breakfast staff were lovely. Everyone spoke English. But they also humoured me when I tried to speak very poor Italian. The coffee was excellent. The breakfast was mostly cold cuts and hard boiled eggs, pastries, breads but I always enjoyed it. If you include it with your room which I recommend, you will avoid paying some of the highest prices known to man for Trevi restaurant breakfasts. The single room was nice, the bed was extremely comfortable. The aircon worked well, the room was serviced every day and they did a fantastic job. I didn’t find my room to be loud, but Rome generally IS loud so you have to expect street noise. I used ear plugs and couldn’t hear a thing. The walls between rooms are thick, I couldn’t hear any of my neighbours. The rooms have opening windows, so even in a single room it feels airy. The hotel was open 24 hours and as a solo traveller that was essential for me. There is an elevator, but if you can’t walk stairs make sure you request a room below third floor as the lift only goes to level 2. The area was soooo central a
−Some small - rather subjective, but completely unproblematic negatives that really did not make much difference to my stay overall. The bathroom and shower were incredibly small in a Single room. But if you google showers in hotels in Rome you will see what I mean- this is normal. If you feel you are wider or taller than Marilyn Monroe, you might have a hard time with Italian showers. My recommendation is- don’t worry about it. It’s the same everywhere. Know going in that this bathroom has barely enough room for one person to turn in a circle. But- as a solo average sized human, I found it to be only a tiny inconvenience. The pillows in my room were very old. I happen to be a pillow snob so I only say this because it was obvious to me. But - I still found the bed extremely comfortable and slept extremely well every night. Oh and one last thing, my room wasn’t ready until 3pm. But I can’t imagine an early check in would have been possible even if I requested it. They are a very busy property. That’s it. Those are my only negatives. Everything else was perfect!! Thank you very much for a very nice stay. 10/10 definitely recommend.

−Het is een tot op de draad versleten hotel. WC spoelt slecht door, twijfelachtige elektrische bedrading, kasten die niet sluiten, verouderd sanitair. Maar je betaalt wel een hoop geld....

«I would recommend it for couples of all ages to try this place once.»
+The location was spectacular and convenient. A million-dollar view from the window of the room. The 4th floor breakfast buffet and staff were excellent. The cleaning crew were like ghost and did excellent job.
−The elevator is tiny, slow and with long wait times. The AC unit had no remote, it was controlled by the front desk, response time is not consistent; from almost immediately to a few minute wait. The room was tight, particularly, your luggage would need to be managed to not to block passage from bedroom to bathroom.
