‘The jewel of the Big Sur coastline.’
+A place of beauty and serenity hugging the Big Sur cliff edge at 1,200 ft above sea-level, Post Ranch Inn is worth every penny - it is a place essentially that has not been developed (aside from the beautiful architectural accommodation) and you get a sense of stepping back in time to California as it was when it was just ranch country. Sitting on the bluff amongst wild flowers that blow in the quiet soft breeze (March was 80 degrees with limited fog), it is a magical experience that fills the soul and delights the senses. This charming retreat does not overplay its hand: it has remained true to itself, its history and its roots. Dine at the elegant Sierra Mar restaurant amongst locals and feel right at home. It is quiet elegance for people who seek inspiration, peace and quiet and reassurance that the world can be a beautiful place. Breath in the fresh air, watch the eagles sour and keep this magical memory forever. (S&J celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary).

‘Memorable Surprise Proposal’
+My now fiancé :) planned an amazing weekend away to surprise me with a proposal at Post Ranch Inn. Not only was the property itself stunning, but the staff and events team went above and beyond to make this a special experience. From a floral room set up, a private cliffside proposal, dinner reservations, and transportation across the property, everything was catered to make the experience memorable. Social shout out to Derek for all his help upfront with my fiancé to plan such an unforgettable experience!
‘California dreaming’
+The most amazing experience in Big Sur with elegance, tranquility, and everything that a dream California vacation can be.

‘Big Sur paradise’
+Another amazing experience at the Post Ranch Inn! Every detail was perfect. A special thank you to Tim (the GM). He’s laser focused on making sure the guest experience is exceptional in every way. No request was too small or too big. He has built an incredible team. They’re friendly, professional and helpful in every way. The front office (DJ, Jackie, Andreas and others) all went the extra mile to make sure our stay was unforgettable. The restaurant ( Sierra Mar) is fantastic. Great wait staff (Phil, and Trevor) were excellent and the chefs and bartenders were top notch. Also want to thank the rest of the team for a great experience (Abraham, Glen, Juan and many others). A few memorable and recommended activities…Stargazing by the jade pool through a high powered telescope with staff astronomer Sergio was definitely a highlight. Morning yoga with Janelle was the perfect way to start the day. She’s the best! And finally relaxing on the deck or hot tub of our very private room enjoying some wine and watching the ocean can’t be beat. Every room is unique and spectacular. If you’ve never been here do yourself a favor and make the trip. It’s worth every penny.

‘Unrivaled Excellence!’
+Our stay at the Post Ranch was entirely unforgettable; from small, curated details, to the offerings of the property and attention of all staff, the Ranch is bespoke without being overwhelming. If you are considering any of the romantic packages, we couldn’t be more pleased; my fiancé and I got engaged over the weekend, and the planning, communication, privacy, and fulsome service provided by Derek truly made the experience as memorable as possible; his perfect timing, kindness, and detail oriented approach made the proposal seamless and the rest of the trip special. Jordon and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and we are already planning our return trip for next year.

‘Proposal at Post Ranch Inn with Derek’
+If you are reading this and thinking about doing a proposal at Post Ranch Inn, just do it!! Post Ranch was literally the best hotel experience we've ever had, and it made our engagement so special. The property is unreal - I'd made some plans to leave the property over the course of the weekend, and we ended up just not leaving the property because it was so stunning! Derek was exceptional and went above and beyond to make everything feel seamless, thoughtful, and special. He was incredibly helpful throughout the process. (The bench spot for the proposal also works really well - it was secluded and felt like our own private area.) The entire staff was amazing as well - really warm, attentive, and welcoming. Post Ranch is one of those rare places that fully lives up to the hype and then exceeds it. We will definitely be back!!
‘Exactly What Big Sur Should Be’
+We had never been to Big Sur and tend to gravitate toward higher-end, couples-oriented resorts. We've stayed at Hermitage Bay in Antigua, Kura in Costa Rica, and Sugar Beach in St. Lucia, and Post Ranch Inn compares extremely favorably to all of them , probably most similar to Hermitage Bay in terms of quality of service and atmosphere. With that being said, my wife and I stayed at Post Ranch Inn for four days in mid-March. It was an exceptional experience. We stayed in one of the Northern Ocean rooms and had complete privacy. It also had 180-degree views of the ocean, which were just incredible. At night, it's so dark you can see the stars perfectly. For activities, we hiked a little but also did yoga a couple of days, the very relaxing myofascial ball program, and the incredibly cool sound experience , sort of a combination of meditation and sound therapy. Absolutely incredible. We ate three nights at the restaurant and the food was always good. I would have liked a slightly larger menu, but everything was excellent. I noticed some people complain about the lack of modernity in the rooms, but they are absolutely perfect for the setting. They blend in naturally, much more so than

‘Engagement at Post Ranch Inn’
+Absolutely incredible experience. Purchased the engagement package and proposed to my fiance on Valentine’s Day on the property. Derek was amazing in helping me work out all the details and even helped with taking a video from his personal cell phone which was not included in the package. The property is beautiful and the entire weekend was magical. Highly recommend!

‘Absolutely wonderful’
+I have been to some of the nicest hotels and resorts around the world and Post Ranch Inn is still my favorite. The rooms, the service, the restaurant, the grounds, pools and views - they can't be beat. The rooms are pricey but the value is so there. You're not just staying in a room. You're having an experience when you stay at Post Ranch Inn. I look forward to my next visit. Big Sur is heaven and this is the sweetest slice.
‘Without Compare’
+Absolutely beyond description in every possible way. Totally stunning property, maintenance, service, offerings, top to bottom amazing. So often luxury experiences are a total goof for people who want to feel rich. Post Ranch Inn made us feel special, and helped us appreciate how special the world can be.
