“I don't think that the price of £129 for one night was good value for money.”
+The bed was very comfortable and the en suite was very nice, it looked like it had recently decorated.
−The room was right opposite a working building which i had to have the curtains closed all the time for privacy. The room was also next to a road which meant it was quite noisy. I arrived at about 1.30pm and was told straight out that 3pm was check in time. He didn't check to see if the room was available or not just a straight 3pm only answer. I also felt that at 3pm when i asked to go to my room that it was too much trouble for the staff to take me. I also think that the price of £129 was way too much for what was offered.

−Only way out of building before 12.00 was done a stone fire escape. Not made aware of this prior to booking. No good for a person that uses a walking stick!!!

“genuine hospitality”
+The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in making our stay worthwhile. They came to our rescue without the slightest trace of a midnight grudge when we managed to make a bit of a mess of the key-based check-in, and throughout our stay they were approachable, helpful and keen to hear what we thought. The room was beautifully furnished, very clean and clearly prepared with care. Everything about the stay felt naturally generous, without being ostentatious: from the furnishings to the wonderful selection of teas and coffees provided for breakfast. It was somewhat more expensive than some of our other accommodations, but we did not regret it for a moment! Above all, there was a real sense of genuine hospitality throughout, and we felt very well looked after. We would therefore be very happy to recommend the Red Lion.
