“Fabulous , which we could have stayed longer”
+The property is in a beautiful location, away from the bustle of Kandy, which makes it very relaxing and calm. The pool area is gorgeous and the staff are extremely kind and helpful the chef in particular. The food is really good too. Thank you

+la vue splendide l'emplacement tout proche du centre ville mais à l'écart sur le haut d'une colline les espaces de l'établissement (la piscine, la chambre, les petits salons) le service du personnel (restaurant, major d'homme) les petites attentions (le coco nut offert le matin, le tea time offer)
−le major d'homme était très disponible des fois un peu trop surtout quand on vient pour un séjour en amoureux. l'espace privé de la villa se limite finalement à la chambre.

“Lovely hotel up on the hill away from the noise of the city”
+Great service. Lovely garden, and fantastic food. Breakfast was incredible. So much to eat.
−The booking.com details are not accurate. Room sizes are completely wrong. Ours said 6000 sq feet, when it was more like 300!
“Great Hotel but not for this Price”
+Beautiful location with a good view over the city with a sufficient pool and nice nature around, although a bit far from the town centre. The rooms are totally comfortable and have a lot of details. The staff is beyond friendly, very personal and always present to help one out. The food is very good and can be easily personalized. Small and quaint hotel that just feels safe and personal.
−In the end, I am very torn about this place. The buildings and grounds are pretty, but much smaller than they seem online. There aren't any grounds or gardens and also the pool is much smaller than thought. All in all, the common areas need a little bit of love and seem rather run-down in some places. The pool is not heated and a little dirty in some places. While there are many great places to sit for food, there is a lack of general enjoyment in the garden and the big tent just looks like a huge obstacle in the nature. The room was quirky and totally sufficient, but everything seemed a bit mixed and unmatched, slightly old, forgotten and run-down. There surely is a lot of love poured into this place, but it needs to be updated and speak more one coherent design language. Since the hotel is so small, the staff can feel a bit awkward at times and more like staying at a distant family member's house. The food was good and truly nothing to complain about, both dinner and breakfast, but for the high price of 40 USD per person for one Sri Lankan dinner just not special enough. We had a similar taste for 1/3rd of that price in many other locations in Sri Lanka. You also need to pre-book

“Beau mais beaucoup trop cher.”
+L’emplacement est super, le bâtiment est très beau et la décoration de bon goût. La literie est top.
−Nous avons attendu 30 mn au petit déjeuner (dont nous avions pourtant dû choisir le contenu la veille), il y avait un cafard dans la douche le matin et l’ensemble est beaucoup trop cher pour ce que c’est.

+We loved this hotel so much, it felt so special and like you were staying at someone’s house in a really good way. It was small and boutique like. The highlight was the dinner, you absolutely must eat one night if you stay as the food is the best we have tasted
“Overnight stay at Elephant stables”
+Fantastic stay at the Elephant stables. Niehal and the team were so friendly and helpful and welcoming. The room was very comfortable with amazing views over Kandy. Food was superb. Highly recommended

+Lovely contrast from commercial large hotels. Bespoke service with a fabulous view and stunning food. Although the set menu was $38 per person, well worth it and the best food we have had so far in Sri Lanka. The family room was excellent for a family with older teenagers with plenty of room. Staff could not have done anymore.
