“Sort of place I could imagine Miss Marple!”
+It's a beautiful old hotel set in scenic grounds within walking distance of the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially as I was on my own and they were all lovely. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and separate shower and toilet en suite. I liked that it had very useful additions for disabled guests and a plastic shower mat too. Big fluffy white towels and shower gel etc provided. There is a swimming pool indoors which was also a great find with a steam room and jacuzzi. The lounges were comfortable with great views over the large gardens. There is a bar menu and seating and a main restaurant where I had both dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent and plentiful. I very much enjoyed my stay here and will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.
−Some bits of the hotel could do with painting or redecorating. But it is a delightful quaint hotel and this really didn't bother me at all.

“Goede locatie om Exmoor te verkennen!”
+Hotel heeft een goede locatie in Minehead, wij hebben vanuit hier het nationaal park van Exmoor kunnen verkennen! Personeel is vriendelijk en kamer was erg ruim.
−Het is een oud hotel en dat heeft natuurlijk zijn charme, maar het zwemgedeelte is wel echt aan vernieuwing toe. Het was er, naast verouderd, ook vrij vies. De kamer zelf was redelijk schoon, maar ook de badkamer had nog een kleine poetsbeurt kunnen gebruiken.

+Great location. Very friendly staff. Food was lovely and the service very prompt.
−The water pressure in our room was extremely low,we were warned. But unfortunately it made showers virtually impossible. The garden was lovely but irresponsible dog owners failing to clear up after there pet spoilt the experience,obviously not the hotels fault,but still unpleasant.

+Loved the location and the hotel room was very good and clean the staff were pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was good and the main meal was excellent. The swimming pool is good.

+Staff were very hospitable and the room was a good size. Breakfast and evening restaurant service was well priced with good quality food. It was a short stroll to the seafront and to the main street and the hotel is dog friendly with quite extensive gardens for evening walks for our 4 legged guest! A very pleasant stay.
−Very little - perhaps a little spruce up on decoration upstairs but that was a minor thing.

“Lovely place for a quiet few days. Proper service and good non chain type food and service.”
+The ambience and grace of an old fashioned hotel with traditional standards of service. The pool area and health facilities are really good.
−This is not a modern hotel and the decor is showing signs of wear. Some selective sympathetic renovation is needed without destroying its appealing charm. Hotels like this won't be around for much longer.

“Great short break.”
+Friendly staff , excellent check in, I had a single room which was quite large, easy parking, and a great location. My room overlooked a wooded hillside with a partial sea view to the right. I had a restful night’s sleep. Breakfast next morning was great, efficient staff, Full English with cereals and juices etc. On the whole I would stay here again.
−The furniture in the room was a little dated but perfectly acceptable for the price.
