“Probably better options at this price elsewhere”
+It is handily accessible to Macclesfield and set in it's own grounds is generally quiet. The breakfast is quite good.
−It's in need of some refurbishing. The room decor and bathroom were well used. Not including at least the use of the pool in the room price just seems churlish. Despite it's quiet location, having a room facing the main thoroughfare meant that passing car noises was disturbing. A Ferrari parked outside, on a disabled space, was quite noisy. On arrival the front desk attendant was quite uninterested. On departure, they were completely absent. We left our room card on the desk and went.

“Expensive and not at all pet friendly”
+The location was brilliant and the grounds were vast
−They said there was an extra charge for the dogs..£50.00 i thought that was steep as we only paid 129.00 for the room. When i checked my bank account they had taken £100.00 for one night stay for the dogs....i complained and they agreed to refund us 50.00 and give us a free evening meal. I felt we had been duped. The dogs weren't allowed anywhere apart from in the room and outside. The dog room was scruffy, poorly maintained and had a problem with the plumbing...the shower head was dirty.

−Mixed information from staff about the use of the spa. Inconsistency in information at reception. Poorly staffed.. Poor response to messages prior to arrival. Room was very poor and extremely disappointing. Bathroom grim!
+We love Mottram Hall, we had our wedding there a good few years ago so it's special to us
−That you had to walk outside to access the gym/spa where you used to be able to go through the hotel. One of the cocktails we had wasn't the best and our room could have done with a bit of TLC as standard

“Mediocre on a good day, don’t waste your money.”
+The hotel was mediocre at best, given the price you pay to stay I would not consider it a 4 star experience in the least. If you are saving for a trip and are looking to spoil yourself, this is not the place to do it and you will leave disappointed.
−The rooms are run down; paint chips, broken furniture, smoke alarms hanging by wires from the ceiling and incredibly thin walls. We ordered room service the first night which arrived promptly, we left the tray in the room for house-keeping to remove the next day as did not wish to clutter the hallway. We spent the whole day out only to find upon our return the tray left in the corridor for several hours into the very late evening making the place look even more scruffy. Staff, whilst pleasant, are not attentive preferring to mill around talking to one another. The hotel is large and like a rabbit warren but at no point did the staff offer to show us around or explain any of the amenities. The food at the restaurant is incredibly hit or miss with the staff, again, very negligent except for the manager.

“Great night at Mottram Hall”
+Location is great. Uber eats may struggle getting out here though. Took a while to get a delivery. Room was excellent, large, clean - however no AC that I could see but you can open the windows. Bed was great. Decor was great.
−Slightly confusing to navigate if you need to get to reception from the spa side at night indoors.

“Run by kids”
+Nice hotel. Room were warm but a lil small. Nice friend hotel staff. Spanish guy on spa service was nice to talk too, free crips. Asian girl on reception who checked us in was friendly and kind to offer us drink when room wasn't ready. Beautiful going and nice spa. Okay breakfast. Could have more and make it clear that different egg options are available
