“Great location, lovely grounds and spacious loft room.”
+Location was great and grounds were lovely. The room was a great size, larger than expected and the loft bedroom was unique. Parking fee was not entirely clear when booking but the carpark was convenient and worthwhile.
−Breakfast was disappointing as there were multiple tour groups in the restaurant and the overflow dining area,making it difficult to find a table and almost all hot food had run out.

“Comfortable, Clean & Inviting, Great Staff”
+We had a wonderful stay at Mercure Canberra! The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the yard was fantastic for our dogs, giving them a lovely space to stretch their legs and enjoy themselves. The staff were extremely welcoming to our fur babies and made us all feel right at home. It’s such a pleasure to stay somewhere that welcomes dogs so warmly. Highly recommend for anyone travelling with their furry family members,we’d happily stay again! 🐾❤️

“A 1 star hotel at a 5 star price.”
+The waiving of the parking charge and a couple of free drinks because our room wasn't ready was the only positive.
−Whole property, but especially the room, badly needed renovation - chipped & damaged walls & doors. Rubber ramp into the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. Water pressure in the shower barely enough to wash off soap. Courtyard full of dog poo - making it worse was the grass being trimmed with a line trimmer when we arrived breaking up and scattering the poo everywhere. The balcony stairs were covered in black spots and plaster was falling off the balcony wall. Courtyard effectively unusable - except for the rabbits! The advertised dog bowl, bedding and treat were nowhere to be seen. Being asked to pay for parking on top of the very high room charge was offensive.

“Excellent location for the war memorial and the hub of Canberra.”
+Excellent location, lovely staff. 15 min easy walk to the hub of Canberra, where there are plenty of eateries and restaurants to choose from. Short walk to the Australian War Museum which was our main reason for visiting.
−Having to pay for parking which we were unaware of. There are some spots at the front of the building which are free if you’re lucky enough. Fortunately, we were able to secure a spot out the front but weren’t game to go anywhere in the car in case we lost the spot. Building is old and could do with a few aesthetic improvements but overall it was clean and reasonably priced. Would be happy to stay here again.
