“A comfortable cozy clean stay that we would love to return (if possible) and recommend to anyone.”
+The staff was very helpful. In communication as soon as we completed the booking. Provided coffee at 6AM which is very rare in this part of the country. Rooms are very clean. Bathrooms are spacious and clean as if they were recently renovated. The location is right on the road and next to a restaurant. There is a room for the driver too.
−Not a negative but a good to have - A complimentary breakfast. Even without it, this is a great stay for a family.
+Although a small budget property, the service provided by on site manager Bob and his team was five star. From the time of booking to arrival he was in constant communication. During the stay he was always available with a smile. His recommendations for dining choices were fantastic. They also took care of the stay and refreshments for our driver. Support this small business.

+We booked a deluxe king room, which was quite spacious and very clean. We stayed comfortably for two nights, and the staff were very helpful. Overall, we had a really great experience here. The view was amazing, too!

“Class apart”
+The staff was very courteous and cooperative. Rooms were very clean and location is very good (on the main road). Room size is also good and washroom was clean and hygienic. Overall it's a value for money. Room had dental kit alongwith bottles of soap and shampoo.

+We booked Joyous Rooms property in Sohra Cherapunji by booking number 6737184783 on 5th August 2026. We had connected to the property too earlier and also on the same day of our booking on 13th August 2026. Earlier Mr Bob shared us a video of the so that we can decide if we want to come or not. We liked it and said yes we will come. We reached on the same day 13th August at 3:11 pm and checked in the Room No 2 on 1st Floor of the hotel. The door latch of the room is in reversed direction which I found unique in the room. We shared our voter id card as photo id through what's app, he shared the password of the wifi which is ri6hf3Vu1@ for Airtel_joyous rooms internet connection through what's app We had lunch at Orange Roots which is a nearby hotel and got our packed dinner from there too from our stay. We stayed there in the afternoon and enjoyed the view. But room had no fans or air conditioner. At around 8 pm the person called Bob came and asked for transfer of the room fees as we shall be leaving by 7 to 8 am the next day. He mentioned to transfer Rs 2000 through GPay which I did. I asked that this is booked through booking.com which says 2300. He said it's a discount from hotel
−Since it was already night and we being tourists are not aware of the nearby hotel and already we had paid we had to resort to his point. He also what's apped me what is to be written in the message of booking.com. We had no other option than to resort to the same. We stayed there and the next morning at 5 am we left the place fearing what more Mr Bob will do to us. After the process is over Bob had switched on the what's app conversation timer to 24 hours so that the conversation is deleted soon. The way it was done with us seems that this is done with other tourists too. It's really sad to see how booking.com and it's reputation is utilised by the locals. Internet access to the place is very low so we could not make this mail from the place. I have come down to guwahati and is on my way to my place Kolkata and writing you the mail. I can attach all what's app screenshots and photos taken by me in my stay in joyous rooms to authenticate my statement to you if a mail id is provided. I searched a lot for mail id to reach you too. But couldn't find. Even I had photo with Bob which I can share. Really felt frightened with the experience and will not resort to your platform unless prop

“Comfortable and clean”
+Bob was a lovely host who was friendly, very helpful and responsive. The room was clean with comfortable beds and had a good bathroom.
−The only downside was a road right outside, which was very quiet in the evening and morning.
