+I have stayed here before, and it is a great historical hotel with a great location downtown near the Meewasin Trail. I walk for health and exercise which is why I appreciate the location.
−PARKING!!! Trying to find a parking spot on the street (which has metered parking Mon-Sat) is a challenge on weekends, and the fenced lot for hotel parking is great if you can get a spot. If there would be a reason for me not to stay at the Senator, it would be the parking.

“A short but enjoyable stay”
+The hotel has an old world look. Quirky. Staff on checking in and out were very pleasant and helpful. My room was comfortable. The breakfast room was dimly lit, but provisions for a continental breakfast were more than sufficient. The pub adjoining the property was olde English, serving good food, etc. the hotel was situated in a convenient downtown area.
−The carpets throughout the hotel looked as if they needed a good clean.

+Vintage Zimmer und ganzes Hotel sehr schön und sauber. Lage hervorragend zum Spazieren Stadtmitte Park und am Fluss entlang. Essen und Bier im Pup war super und kein Lärm in der Nacht.

+Beautiful historal building.
+The historic charm and the walking distance to the river front made this hotel perfect for us. The pub next door was a welcome dinner option with great choices and good food. Given that we had been on the road all day, it was so nice not to have to drive anywhere for dinner. Lots of diner choices within walking distance. We really appreciated on-site parking.
−The hotel is a bit of a fortress. The front door is locked at all times. The parking in the back is gated. Give the circumstances of the area, it makes sense.
