“For location to train station and central Florence the Essence is an excellent choice.”
+Our room was a generous size with two windows on the park and city views. The room and bathroom were beautiful designed and very functional.
−The bed pillows were long overused and flat. The sheets on the bed were not large enough or fitted. Once you got in bed they pulled up and became unattached. You ended up with the sheets all gathered against you.

+Check out ZTL (Traffic Limited Zones) in Firenze. Google Maps do not reliably warn the drivers to route around ZTL zones and we had to pass a couple of them to reach Essence Hotel. However Essence team was very helpful to resolve the matter. Please read Hotel booking instructions and contact them before your travels.

+Hotel is located in a quiet square but within walking distance of all the attractions. Lovely modern room with excellent bathroom.

“A hotel with some pros and cons to consider.”
+The room was large, the staff were super friendly and the bathroom was modern and well stocked. Overall I am Happy with choice we made. When we checked in the woman went out of her way to tell us about the city and draw us a map. Great customer service!
−There were a few times were men were Hanging out outside the front door making us feel Uncomfortable. We alerted the front desk but it was enough to feel on edge about the location. Something to consider if you’re a solo female Traveler. Also I heard the neighbors alarm at 5 AM in my room one night. The walls were a bit thin.

+A good location, close to the historic centre and in a green area. There was a wonderful view from the window. The room was practical and had all the basics. The staff were very friendly.
−The lift only works if everyone remembers to close the doors; otherwise, you may have to take the stairs to the 3rd or 4th floor. On a couple of nights, it was noisy outside.
