“Ceylon Ayu Resort”
+Stunning place, simple & elegant lines, all interior and fittings & furnishings done to the highest standard. Very comfortable rooms with big French doors opening onto a deck, so nice if you want some fresh air & a break from the aircon. Very welcoming & supportive staff. Service in the dining room on the 4th floor (next to the pool) is excellent, although it seemed incongruous to have the kitchen on the ground floor & all food transported up in the lift. There were limited menu options while we were there, I guess due to it being low season,. However, as older travellers, we really appreciated being able to eat in. We were even lucky enough to be serenaded by the manager while having dinner! As for the lovely pool, it's just the icing on the cake for those of us who cherish a dip!
−The shower arrangement is a bit awkward for a tall, older person, having to step out over a bath & navigate around a glass panel.

“Good service and value for money.”
+Spacious and clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely rooftop pool with a view of the hills. Very large and spacious rooms with kitchens and fridges. Good breakfast on the rooftop. They have a lift which helped as we had older parents with us.
−The rooms are actually all super large with extra beds to accommodate atleast 4 people but it wouldn’t let us book it on the website. So looks like we ended up with more space than we needed. But the service was good and all the staff were very kind.

“Een absolute aanrader! Zeer prettig en net hotel.”
+Eigenlijk het hele plaatje klopt. Super nette en grote kamers, sanitair goed op orde (zeker niet overal in Sri Lanka is dit het geval) en een heerlijk zwembad bovenop het dak met prachtig uitzicht. Daarnaast hadden we een klein probleempje met onze tuktuk; de manager én assistent manager zijn direct op de motor gesproken en met ons meegereden naar het centrum, voor het geval de tuktuk zou uitvallen of als er problemen waren. Wij zouden hier zonder twijfel direct weer boeken.

−Het is alleen goed om te weten dat het stadscentrum niet op loopafstand te doen is. Dit is niks ten nadelen van het hotel zelf, maar goed om te weten! Daarnaast is het wellicht een idee om de prijzen in het hotel enigszins gelijk te trekken met restaurants. Zo houd je klanten eerder in het hotel. De prijzen liggen gevoelsmatig hoger dan buiten het hotel.
