“Good location, lovely surroundings, shame about the power cut!”
+The location and the building
−The room decor is more old-fashioned than we would’ve liked. During our day there was a power cut which we were not informed of at any time instead we had to go to reception first thing in the morning to get confirmation of the power cut and what the breakfast arrangements would be. There was no provision given. In the event of the power cut such as temporary lighting.

−It was a little cold inside you would have expected fireplaces light up over the 3 big rooms but only one room was working. The remaining common areas were very chilly. We had a power cut due to a storm and the staff relocated us in a nearby hotel. That was very kind and considered of them. We have really appreciated the generous gesture.

+A great countryside location. Comfortable rooms and the staff were all very professional, very kind and thoughtful and always ready to help. A fabulous team!
−Unfortunately the breakfast buffet was rather small during week, and the full english was great but bacon overcooked and dry unfortunately and the roasted mushrooms too tough. However, on Sunday the breakfast was great. The dinner, a good choice and well presented and tasty!

“Good stay in a lovely location”
+Reception staff were very friendly and sorted out any issues with no fuss. The room was very nice, our first room was cold, but we were moved to a room that had a aircon unit so this issue was resolved easily.
−When we had dinner, we had to go and find someone to order our meal, it felt like there was a skeleton staff running. Having said that, everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful.
