+The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
−I wouldn't consider this a 4 star hotel it's more a 3. The toilet roll dispenser is strange. Paint chipping from the bath.

“Absolutely dreadful service , staff completely out of their depth with no training”
+Great location and comfortable beds
−Room was dated , valance covers tired and shabby . Wardrobe with curtains instead of glass . Service absolutely appalling . Had to keep asking for cutlery . No water glasses in restaurant, had to drink water from wine glasses . At breakfast on second morning no hot food available by 8.50 am, despite being told it would be topped up gave up 40 mins later when it still hadn’t been served . Took 30 mins to order coffee while the girl heated cups and cleaned tables despite a large queue. Ordered two cappuccinos and one arrived as just hot milk . That evening we received a drink in a badly Cracked glass , ordered toasted sandwiches and requested mustard which eventually arrived full to brim in a large stainless steel gravy boat …. So off putting 🤢 ordered a hot port and it came half full with just port and hot water , no lemon cloves or sugar . Next day waiting 40mins for porridge at breakfast. . Young girl came to our table of 8 with an omelette which hadn’t been ordered. One party at the table then requested an omelette so she handed it to him . Meanwhile I’m sure a guest at another table was still waiting for the omelette . Absolutely no training has gone into the staff . I complain

“Repeat Stay in Abbey Hotel”
+The interior art is beautiful and the rooms are beautiful laid out. Freshly made sandwiches in the bar were delicious. Staff are very accommodating and patient.

“Short stay in Roscommon Town”
+Location - short walk from the train station and short stroll to town. Staff were very attentive and polite Room was perfectly presented. The shower pressure was adjustable, which is great. Room was bigger than I expected.
−Would have like more fresh fruit options, otherwise it was beautifully presented and I ate well.

+The building was achitecturally impressive.
−The room while spacious and warm was somewhat outdated.The bath towel could not be classed as such as it was too small. The sheet in my double bed was torn and the hand towel was obviously repaired with black thread.The bottom of the shower curtain was very dirty. ( Room 87) i expected more in a four star hotel
