+The room was exceptionally clean and modern, it was easy to find and perfectly located
−We paid extra for a cooled breakfast but upon our arrival we were told new people had taken over and they had closed the kitchen so only a continental breakfast was available

「Good place to stay in the centre of town. Everything we needed for one night.」
+Bedroom was small but comfortable. Very nice shower with plenty of hot water. Instead of a cooked breakfast there was a basket. This was filled with a good selection of different items and there were also items in the fridge. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location in town centre.

+Very central location. We had room on the back of property, which was lovely and quiet. A very well equipped room. Had seen some comments about lack of cooked breakfast, but we really enjoyed all that was on offer in the room - lovely selection. All in all, excellent value for money.
−For us, the pillows were too big & hard, but that is a personal preference I guess. Given guests are having breakfast in their room, maybe fresh coffee bags would be good instead of instant granules?

「Go back to the warm friendly place it was」

−Having stayed at the Black Hat before and enjoyed it. Unfortunately we were so disappointed this time. We arrived to find the hotel had new owners and there would be no hot food served for breakfast - we should have been notified as we had paid over £150.00 per night. That wasn’t the end of the disappointment, we went out for a lovely meal outside and then arrived back at the hotel to find what i describe as a youth club with a DJ on !! The noise was so bad that we checked out early the next day as we didn’t want to listen to that on the Saturday night !!! I text the number on the key to tell them my disappointment but nobody even responded !!!!. So sad as we used to love staying here so we lost our 2nd night stay that we had paid in advance.
