「Wifey said, "let's go have fun" after checking out the neighborhood」
+A last minute unplanned reservation. While leisurely traveling 99 nocal to socal, wifey decided we should overnight midway-ish. we were stopping to check out a Clovis brewery, AI suggested this "older style" motel as a quirky good value pick, along with the usual suspects. Pulled in to take a look at the property, liked it and booked it from the parking lot. big clean room, medium size fridge & 2 burner stove, comfy bed, everything seemed very clean. It's a few doors away from the "Backyard Social Club" a cozy little pub with a solid tap list and live music consumed on the outside patio from old style webbed lawn chairs; plus a 10% discount it you're staying at the Rodeo.
−While the room & property were non smoking, the room had a heavy ozium / smoke killer scent. I won't be the first to note it, but a cook kitchenette with no pots / pans / plates / flatware / utensils isn't so useful. Maybe the property could offer a cookware box with a deposit or a small rental fee...

−Paid more for kitchenette that had no pots or pans. Old flooring and bad kitchen cabinets. Noise outside window in early morning.
