「A good place to stay for its value.」
+Convenient location. The value was reasonable. Check in was with a friendly staff. Parking was fine. Newly painted room but the floor needs to be upgraded. Mattress was comfortable.

「Clean and comfortable stay」
+I'm a frequent guest and always enjoy my stay. The rooms are clean and the owners are always kind and hospitable. It's very centrally located with plenty of options for dining in the neighborhood.

+The simplicity, cleanliness, location.
−There's an air conditioner/heater in the room(s) my last 2 stays, but seemingly inoperable. A fan is provided instead and a window that can be opened slightly to allow air flow.

「Convenient location, but noisy. Recommend requesting a room well away from University Ave.」
+The location was good and the check in process was easy. The manager was very nice.
−Mostly, it was just noisy. Lots of street noise and noise from the apartment below. Didn't get a good night's sleep. In fairness, this may have been due to the room being real close to the street.

「Mixed bag Marina Inn」
+1) Room called "standard king" was listed as having a twin bed. It had a queen size bed 2) nice price 3) okay location 4) free parking
−1) shower too small 2) bed was more like a boxspring than mattress 3) when they said no soap provided, I thought no shower/lotion/conditioner. There was no hand soap or anything in the room 4) toilet ran all night due to clapper not seating fully - leaking constantly (noisy). 5) no AC in a hot room

「Easy to find, quiet area, good room rates, my Favorite Place in Berkeley」
+I like the area and how easy it is to get to the hotel. There's plenty of local eateries and liquor vendors close by. Above all the area is nice and quiet. The room was clean, nice shower, cable TV, cooling tower fan & mini fridge. It's my favorite place to stay when I visit Berkeley.
−The room can get stuffy with the windows closed during warm weather. I wish there was a sports drink/ bottled water vending machine in the hotel lobby.

「Great Value for the area」
+Staff was great, the rooms were comfortable and clean. Great value for the area. We stay there when visiting son at Berkeley.

−The lack of transparency when it comes to payment. My reservation was confirmed from Booking.com OK this is the second time I’ve had a problem with them. I get there and they say they do not take visa a bank card that has a visa debit. They don’t take that they only take credit cards. I did not see that anywhere on their site and that’s the second time that I have been displaced in the middle of the night, I am a widow, newly widowed woman. I am in between places living. I’m basically homeless and living in hotels so at this time I was left stranded the second time a 66 year-old woman homeless by the same woman and I think it’s awful and they need to take care of that. I’m gonna yelp them to death.
