「2 night stay, family of 5. Excellent!」
+Great hotel in a very nice location. Very friendly staff. Free parking. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room. Breakfast was outstanding. Handy location from Alton Towers, which was the reason for our stay.
−Nothing negative to mention.

+Beautiful location. Very friendly helpful staff. Tasty breakfasts with good selection.
−Room a little on the small size for a double. Some minor cleanliness problems eg. Tea stains on wall next to bin, could be easily removed. A bit dusty etc.in corners. Took a long time for waste water to drain from basin. All minor things which could be easily put right.

「Had expected better considering paid £150 for double room overnight stay with breakfast.」
+Location. Lovely setting and very attractive looking hotel from exterior. Public areas were pleasant enough. Staff were friendly.
−Booked overnight stay as attended christening celebration there. We had the Sunday carvery - meat was OK and generous amount however vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were not great. Room 10 had a lovely view however the room itself was freezing (heating was not on) and unwelcoming (stark white walls) - sorry to say have stayed in nicer travel lodge rooms. Went out in the evening and worried room would be cold on our return, which fortunately it wasn't. No heating again in the morning. Breakfast: arrived at 10.05am (understood served until 11am) - .Jugs of coffee and hit water were lukewarm. Orange juice was not replenished. Just basic cereals. We ordered the full English which was nicely presented however hash browns and fried egg was very greasy, bacon tough and some items were not hot. Toast on the plate had no butter. No sauces seen or offered.

「Good value stay with children.」
+Great breakfast and value for money. Good for visiting Alton towers. Great family room.
−Some parts are a little tired in decoration and the bathroom sink didn’t drain properly.

+Picturesque setting with interior design that gives a classic country feel on a cozy scale. We had two rooms and a cottage to accommodate three adults and four children and each one had its own distinct style. The space in the cottage was phenomenal and the views from the rooms were stunning. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday evening without a booking for dinner but received a warm welcome and table straight away. The food was amazing then and the following morning for breakfast. We all wished we were staying longer and would definitely love to go back!
