+Great location, rooms clean, beds comfy, staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to others. Will be back for sure.
−Advertised as two large double beds, ended up getting one large double bed and 2 singles. Pushed the two singles together.

+I was in room 3817 this labor weekend and I loved the location. And I loved the room layout.
−Where you park in the carpark at the back, the gate didn't close so you had random homeless people coming up into the carpark. But I can see why the gate wasn't closed because the amount of people coming in and out. The hotel was packed. Also there was a random guy walking around the hotel. He sounded Russian. Unsure if was a guests but you will see him at the front desk when I gave my cards back at 9.30-10am this morning.

「A convenient place to stay in Gisborne」
+After reading the reviews, we were a little bit nervous about our stay at the Emerald hotel. However we had a lovely night stay. Yes, the hotel has an unusual layout which can be confusing, and the carpark is a little tricky to navigate. However our new room was large and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the Irish pub just next door had a friendly vibe and great food.
−I would recommend that the hotel organise maps for new guests, especially those on the second level. Also spend some time on maintenance of the rooms.

+I would like to mention and thank the lovely gentleman Foley who was on reception when we arrived he was welcoming and professional. He is an asset. I would also like to mention the helpful and friendly housekeepers . I liked the balcony overlooking the beautiful river and our room was comfortable.
−The carpet had lots of stains and lots of maintenance needs doing.
