「Staying at Eagle River Microtel was an overall 7/10 experience.」
+I liked that everything smelled clean. I could tell clorox was used to clean mostly everything, even the sheets. It put my mind at ease.
−The hotel itself is just older. It could use updating but then it would no longer be $80/night rate. There were some random splashes of liquid on the walls. Not sure what they were but the room could have really benefited from a good wall wipe down with a little soap & water. With the hotel also being pet friendly, more grass/a designated bathroom area for the doggies would have been nice too. Our shower curtain rod was broken too. It was kind of annoying but i just weighed the sides down with two rags to prevent sliding and it was fine. Breakfast was limited too. Bagels, toast, oatmeal packets and cereal provided. A quick grab and go. But again, it wouldn’t be an $80 hotel if there would be more. I have stayed at choice hotels that are $195-$250/night and they don’t even provide coffee so i was pleasantly surprised.

+Affordability with all the necessary amenities
−Nothing wrong with the property but some guests lack consideration for others and slam doors. The 10:00 pm rule of silence should be respected

−Breakfast was minimal. No protien rich foods available like: yogurt, fresh fruit, boiled eggs or eggs, no meat like bacon or sausage.

「Not Good」
+The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the location.
−In need of significant upgrades, room had a bad smell, and overall pretty run down. The price was high for this small room. However, compared to most other properties it was less. Skip the breakfast.

−Rude staff, stains on bedsheets, smelly bathroom, no refrigerator or microwave, filthy fan, broken room heater. We are not sure our room was cleaned prior to our arrival.

「Really low quality place, but still expensive.」
+Location was good.
−No air conditioning, curtains were falling off the window, window screen was ripped, cigarette burn on the window seat cushion, bed skirts hanging off the beds, hair on the floor of the bathroom, and no bed side lamps. They were over booked and asked me to downgrade my room from a suite to a double for a discount, but I only got a $50 discount of a $700 stay.
