+The gorgeous view !
−Stalheim Hotel is well maintained, but the overall feel is rather dated. My biggest concern was the mini hairdryer provided. The airflow was weak, so I had to hold it closer to my hair, which got sucked into the back of the dryer. It became tangled and there was a burning smell. This is a genuine safety concern. The hotel should provide proper, full-sized hairdryers that are safer and more effective.

“Lovely hotel. Probably wouldn't return due to adverse features above.”
+Location. Size and decoration of rooms. Plenty of space.
−Rooms were cold with inadequate radiators. No tea/coffee making facilities.

“A view and a history - all you need on the way”
+Amazing view! It's worth it all!
−It is not a freshly rennovated hotel, but you do not pay here for it - it's all about the view, the location, the history around.

“The scenery was awesome but didn’t like the catering to excursion people”
+The location and view was awesome
−They cater to the excursion busses more then regular travellers. The food was catered to excursion busses and when they leave there is nothing

“Stop for the view, but don't stay!”
+Nice big room with lovely view of valley from huge window. Good location for getting the Flam train the next morning.
−Luckily we stopped in Voss on drive from Bergen and picked up dinner. Awful dinner menu if you are vegetarian. Food at breakfast buffet wasn't great either. Hotel is dated as are furnishings in the room. WAY overpriced. No need to stay here. Stay in Flam if you are getting early Flam train.

+one of the best views I've ever had at a hotel, clean comfy rooms, nice bathroom
−restaurant was just okay especially for the price, maybe the buffet option was better choice but we got a la carte and it wasn't great

“This hotel has one of the best views in the world!”
+The location is one of the best in the world for extraordinary views. Also love the lobby with its gorgeous mix of mid century furnishings.
−Rooms are fairly basic and we experienced a few big tour groups at dinner - super noisy!. The staff were great though and shifted our dinner setting to the lobby
