„A step back in time with period luxury.“
+The Midland is an iconic hotel so it was a treat to stay here. The Art Deco styling has been well preserved and it feels authentic. The room was smaller than imagined but well designed and full or surprises: the cupboards and alcoves, the semi-concealed toilet, TV on a bracket that could face both the bed or the seating - like a box of tricks. Wifi was good and there were (unusually) two chairs to relax into. {We did not have a sea-view room but got a side view of the Winter Gardens which is another iconic building!] Breakfast was excellent.

+It's a funky venue.
−Food was not good. Sent it back. Manager was lovely about it. Room was boiling hot. Windows old and not repaired. Repairs in the shower completed and not finished just left.

−The top floor suite was a little tired looking compared to previous visits, scratches and surfaces could do with attention.

„Lovely place, great staff, good food and service“
+The food was excellent and reasonably priced. It was lovely to have restaurant service with friendly and professional staff. The hotel is well located; town centre, train and bus stations all in easy reach. The bar area, also where breakfast is served, overlooks a beautiful beach.
−There was nothing to not like really. A little disappointed with our balcony and with the rotunda bar being closed, but overall enjoyed our stay.
