−Les chambres sont sombres. L’odeur nauséabonde des sargasses dans tout l’établissement et encore plus à la piscine. Impossibilité de se baigner de la mer qui est remplie de sargasses. Prix des repas exorbitants.

„A unique and peaceful beachfront escape“
+The hotel is not ultra-luxurious in the traditional sense, but it is incredibly charming, beautifully designed, and unlike anywhere else. It has a very unique atmosphere that immediately makes you feel relaxed. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay,genuinely kind, attentive, and always eager to help. Our room was huge, and the team was very accommodating with every request we had. One of the highlights is the pool area, which is absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful. Another thing we loved is that every room is built directly on the sand, whether facing the beach or nestled in the jungle, giving the whole property the feeling of a private beachfront villa. Breakfast is à la carte rather than a buffet, and every dish we tried was delicious and freshly prepared. The only real downside is not the hotel itself but the beach conditions. During our stay, there was a significant amount of seaweed. It seems to be more of a regional issue, and I wish more was being done to protect this beautiful coastline, as some nearby areas such as Playa del Carmen appear to be better managed. „Very attentive staff“
+Thanks to everyone at Casa Malca for making our stay a pleasure. Breakfast was fantastic every morning . The room was perfect . We really enjoyed the art tour . The location is quite good in tulum with lots of bars and restaurants around.

„Really nice people but not a 5 star.“

−I didnt feel this was a 5 star resort. its more a 4 star. You only have a pool. If you want to use a hot tub or sauna you have to pay $100 for 30min. Nearly every 5 star resort i stay at offers all these to all the guests. It needs a bit of work, you can see all the exposed orange electrical wire which is super dangerous it should be 600mm below ground. Holes in the wall in the bathrooms in the Restaurant. Tiling not finished. You are next to a construction site next door so you have to deal with that also as an eye sore. PLUS as they are so far from the restaurants in Tulum, they dont offer a shuttle service. If you walk or Ride a bike be careful, has there it a pot holes everywhere and no lights at night. Its like the Government have given up on Tulum. I was told to be Careful about the Police as they are wanting Bribes to get Dric License back off you when they pull you over for checks. Also wished they informed me about this Seaweed Plaque that they have as the beach is 100% out of action. you cant even go down to it. I had to go to Cancun to swim in the bach. Sad.

„So great and yet needs help“
+The hotel is stunning. The beach is lovely. The breakfast was great. The gym and free yoga classes excellent and fun! Staff are very attentive and always going above and beyond. We salute their commitment.
−The sargassum and stench and constant tractor work and diesel smell was not great for this price point. In fairness Malca is THE BEST slice of beach in Tulum when all is well....and yeah...it's not their fault and on this we understand...and it is GREAT to see their heroic efforts to clean the beach- honestly bravo! The rest in our view needs to be tackled by management at a higher "macro" level: The outrageous prices practiced here in Tulum which in our view has likely led to a cratering of Tulum's business. It's in all the press. One can easily see it in the scores of closed businesses along the roadside as you walk around ((God forbid you take a cab). Whether is $20 kids quesadillas by the pool or $50 3min taxi fares or $400 dinners for two adults and a child (and without starters and only two mains and a couple of drinks)...with outrageously high mandatory tipping. Hearing from various folks serving or helping you that even Swiss and Dubai clients are gagging at the prices practiced here is funny and tragic. Finally, the service in Tulum is like everywhere- there are hits and misses - but never have I seen a town where people effectively smile, nod and either agree to disagree

„Heaven on earth“
+This is such a paradise of a place. Beautiful room, beautiful beach, beautiful forest-y place. The staff is super attentive but not at all disruptive. The shower is ginormous. I wish I could just live there. Breakfast is lovely and you have it right on the beach. Ugh, it's amazing.
−The food in the restaurant was not very exciting and VERY expensive. You're not allowed to throw toilet paper into the garbage but the trash can is wide open which is a bit gross.

+If I could give 1000/1000 I would!!! Candelario from the front desk w all concierge staff made our trip unforgetable. Ask them and they provide, in a few seconds. Noa from the beach bar is my brother, but I do not want to forget all others, the breakfast staff, all other beach and pool staff, security from the entrance, everybody. Guys, I will be returning here till tje end of the world. Love you so much. Thank you for the upgrade of my room. Thank you for your love. Thanks also to Willy the driver from your transfer agency. You are the best!!!!
