«Prepare to Freeze! Nothing worked including phones and heating, No receptionist EVER!»
+I did not enjoy my stay.
−Upon arrival, I waited 20 minutes outside in the cold and rain before someone came to the door, which I knocked on repeatedly. A passerby saw me and got someone from the bar. You cannot enter the accommodation from the outside without a room key! And no one was at reception. They NEVER were. The heater did not work except at their convenience. One evening I was so cold I did not sleep at all. I demand a refund for that night. I had to leave the television on and the light in the bathroom to provide a tiny bit of warmth. I met folks at breakfast with the same complaints. Breakfast was the only good thing there. Compliments to the tall, slim, gray-haired chef. The telephone did not work, ever. I had to go downstairs to make calls from the reception desk. To make one phone call it took me almost 2 hours to find help to do so. It was impossible to find help at any time. Housekeeping staff witnessed the fact that my phone did not work. Neither did it work in another room on another floor, nor at reception where there is a sign to dial 0 for help at the reception desk, yet that phone did not work! This happened often! There is severe mold in the bathroom. I demand a refund of at least on

+The breakfast was excellent. This was the highlight of the trip.
−The windows were single glazed in the room I stayed in and the room was freezing. There was no central heating in the room I stayed in, only electric heaters. These heaters had not been turned on. There was no duvet on the bed, only blankets. I slept with my jacked on top of the blankets to keep warm. The staff were quite young and helpful but no one consistent or at the front desk to talk to.

«Charming hotel, welcoming feel»
+The staff was friendly, polite & helpful. A delicious breakfast was included & served in the lovely dining room. The room was comfortable & well kept.
−On my first day, I had put the "do not disturb" sign on my door because I didn't want the room cleaned while I was out. Upon my return, I saw the room had not only been cleaned but the shower door had been replaced. When I asked housekeeping about it, I was told they had been waiting for a plumber for some time. That was the day he came to perform some work & they could not turn him away.. While I understand it is difficult to get servicemen on your own schedule, it would have been good to have received a heads-up that the work might have been performed during my stay so I could have been prepared for that. Housekeeping was apologetic (& did do a very good job)..I am not annoyed, just surprised I wasn't forewarned. That being said, I would highly recommend this hotel. My overall experience was delightful.

«Excellent pub accommodation in a beautiful waterfront location in County Cork»
+The Bosun is a pub with accommodation next door, i.e., separate entrance. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a very large comfy bed. The bathroom was a bit tight as it often is in pub or B&B accommodation, but it worked. And the shower had good pressure and plenty of warm/hot water. Nice big tv and kettle with coffee, tea and a packet of biscuits. The included breakfast was excellent and offered choices from continental style items to full Irish and other cooked options. I had dinner in the pub the night I arrived which was also very good. Topped off my stay watching dolphins swim in the harbour the next morning.
−No complaints. As mentioned, the bathroom was a bit tight but the only slight inconvenience was the small wash basin.

−The chef for the breakfast was not friendly at all so much so that I walked out the place without eating the breakfast although I paid for it.Was not happy at all.
