«A good hotel in a good location with an inflated price that does not correspond to the level»
+The hosts are a husband and wife who do everything to make your vacation enjoyable. They helped organize excursions to the volcano and the cave. The excellent living reef with lots of fish and corals is the main advantage of this hotel , you should definitely come here because of this reef. There is an exotic way to reach the ocean and the reef via an underground cave (ask the owner, he’ll show you). There are many beautiful spots for photo sessions, magnificent gardens, flowering trees and shrubs, and a huge tree grows on the property. There’s a local village nearby, and you can take a walk there. We accidentally stumbled upon a festival there (we were just walking around the area). The locals are friendly and hospitable, but the hotel owner didn’t approve of our actions and was displeased (he failed to make money on us by selling us a tour to this village). I gave the children souvenir euros for the game and real dollars All of this is visible in the photo.(It’s hard to believe that handing out genuine 500‑euro notes is realistic. The owner is being disingenuous.) I explained that this is souvenir money, not real money. It’s not my problem if someone didn’t understand that.Everyo
−I didn't like that it was stated that breakfast was included, and as a result, they only toast and jam with coffee and cocoa for breakfast. There are no juices (you have to pay separately). Even scrambled eggs or something else should be ordered for breakfast for an additional fee. I've never seen anything like this anywhere that if breakfast is included, you have to pay something extra. Breakfast is either included and it is there or it is not included and it must be paid separately. Not a very comfortable shower in the room (no manual shower head). It's very inconvenient that the Internet is only available at the reception. There is no Internet in the rooms. I can't go to the neighboring village because it's not welcome by the owner, although it's my personal business. To pay in another currency (US dollars), I have to go somewhere by taxi for a fee to change it to cotton wool (the process took two hours) I read the rules of residence (book on 20 pages) there are also a lot of restrictions. The owners made a great hotel, but the rules are too strict. (you can't walk in thongs (and if it's hot) you can't go to the village without a shirt) (give out bathrobes then! ) you can't step

«An absolutely magical paradise that will stay high on our list of favourite resorts to visit!»
+This place is absolutely magical. The photos make it look beautiful, but it truly is paradise on earth. The level of care & thought that went into the architecture, buildings, gardens, layout, etc makes it one of the most remarkable places we've ever stayed. The icing on the cake is the chats with John, who was happy to spend each time with each guest individually, getting to know them so you leave feeling a part o the family, and the organisational skills of Silvana, from pre-arrival (checking our flights for us) to welcoming us at arrival, through to organising all our tours for us. Let's not forget the specular rooms with rock features that are truly one of a kind, as well as the sensational staff that greeted us every day with a smile and made us feel like family. Nothing was too much trouble. If you want a truly relaxing, one of a kind holiday, look no further. We made great friends at this resort, due to the fact that connecting with others (and not your phone) is encouraged but the welcoming vibe and conversations with John... it made for the perfect stay x
−We truly felt grateful for everything we had knowing how difficult it was to build and sustain this little slice of paradise in difficult conditions. There were nights it would have been nice to sit around the fire chatting to other guests, but I am guessing that happens in the summer season, when it's not dark so early...so all good x

«Adventure and lush relaxation»
+We had the greatest time at Rockwater. It really is a fabulous place. The resort itself is something of an engineering marvel given how remote Tanna is. The rooms are beautiful and insulated. The staff were just lovely. The food was incredibly tasty. Silvana and John organised everything and I’m pleased to say we barely had to make a decision for ourselves for days. The excursions were all a great adventure and when we weren’t being adventurous it was perfectly relaxing. 100% recommend!

+La struttura ha un’architettura fusa con la montagna e con la costa in una maniera davvero elegante. Il giardino è paradisiaco. C’è una caletta di accesso al mare direttamente sulla barriera corallina. Le camere sono molto pulite.

«A unique slice of paradise»
+We had a wonderful stay at the Rockwater Resort. The location and gardens were sublime and the staff were wonderful. The food was very good and seasonal. The facilitation of our tour and airport transfers was excellent. It is a great and unique place to relax and unwind.
−The only negative was the lack of a bedside reading light - or advice that this is not provided so readers can bring their own mini light for nighttime reading.

«Rockwater Resort on Tanna blew me away!»
+Nothing feels “chain hotel” here. John and Silvana are always there, checking in, helping guests, making sure you’re good. Staff are the same, really kind. Food is so fresh. You can tell everything’s local. Trips they run are exactly as described online, on the hotel's website, make sure to check it out when booking. And get them to tell you how they built the place... it changes how you see it. The Garden is amazing. Birds, flowers everywhere. The rooms have these historical coral pieces in them which is such a cool touch. And the reef is literally right there. Rolled out of bed, grabbed my mask, snorkeled without needing a boat. Pool’s perfect too, quiet, refreshing, just what you need mid-afternoon. This place has soul. So do the people. We hope we can go back soon!

+Everything is gorgeous. The location, the service , the setting, the food. And everything with a high ecological consciousness ! Sylvana organised everything for us, tours, transport. We had the best of time. It is incredible what the owners have created there. We loved it!
