«Cheap for a reason»
+It was cheap and the person at the desk when I checked in was friendly. The room appeared clean, bathroom very clean. No problem with the shower pressure or temperature. There was a very convenient Japanese restaurant (Okami) at the front.
−The room was tired and dated, however that was expected from the photos. Other guests arrived in the room next to me at 1130pm and then kept me awake until after 3am, though that is not exactly the motel's fault, and I did see a sign declaring "no noise after 10pm". The kitchenette area was swarming with tiny cockroaches, more came out the later it got at night. I even found one on the bedside table (not as close to the kitchenette). I wanted to tell the staff about this when I was leaving in the morning but no one was at the desk (9:45am). I rang the number on the sign it said to call if unattended but no answer/no one came. I ended up putting the keys in the drop box as I couldn't wait any longer and left.

«Old, but OK»
+The location was near the tram. The laundry was good value, and there was plenty of parking.
−The fridge stayed on permanently, so we had to turn it off at the wall to stop everything freezing.
