«Nice property but over priced and underwhelming»
+The room was nice.
−The bed wasn't comfortable at all. The breakfast was really really disappointing. The cooked breakfast had 1 sausage, 1 mushroom, 2 rashers of extremely cooked bacon (imagine Canadian bacon, small and crispy) 2 fried eggs, half a tomato and reheated baked beans and a single coffee. Just didn't cut it for me. The continental breakfast option was pathetic. We were told we were only allowed 1 cereal box any more and we'd be charged. A continental breakfast should have croissants, pain au chocolate etc there was just a few apples and oranges and jams (but nothing to put jam on ie no bread) and they charged over £13 for the thing.

«Really disappointed, I’m afraid.»
+The property, staff and food are great - no complaints - but there was no hot water in the room, which is a problem in November, and that wasn’t raised with me when I checked in. I went back to reception and was told that an engineer was ‘hopefully’ coming out, and was given an apology. This morning there was still no hot water.

−TV didn't work in the room unless you cast feom your mobile phone (which isn't ideal. Paid for breakfast, but didn't receive it as staff failed to tell us the chef was off sick. Still have not been given a refund!

«Not Very Boutique»
+There is a lot of charm to the place. Little details like the lights that look like candles and the carved doorframes. The room had a little fridge and robes, which were so comfortable. The food was so good as well, we had the burgers, with some pork bites to share and the cocktails were great. The staff were also so friendly and warm.
−Unfortunately there were a couple things that really let the place down. It advertised itself as a Boutique Hotel, but is sat next to a garage and a very busy road, you could hear the cars going until about midnight. There was also quite loud music playing until about 11:30pm from the pub which was located right beneath our room. At one point the patrons outside were screaming and shouting at each other, some sort of fight was breaking out. The breakfast that was included was described as 'continental' but was really just boxes of cereal, boxes of juice and a couple apples and oranges (the cooked breakfast saved the day). The thing that disappointed me most though was the room. The ceiling chandelier was crooked, and a coat hook was hanging off the door. The fabric headboard was ripped to pieces, with the foam showing underneath. Worst of all, when I booked the Superior Double Room, it showed pictures of a really cute bathtub. The listing said shower or tub but there were no pictures of the shower. When I got to the room, we had the shower but it was just there in the room, no wall or anything. +The food in the pub was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was a really lovely atmosphere.
−The room was very basic compared to the opulent picture. I would rather a more basic picture and know what we’re getting. There really was absolutely nothing wrong with the room (for the price). Just not what I was expecting.
