+Very cool vibe. Walking distance for food, and complimentary Uber for guests that need to go for medical appointments.

«Worst hotel experience I have ever had»
+It looked much better on line than in reality.
−Our room had electrical problems like outlets and lights not working. Our phone to the front desk didn't work. We got in late and didn't realize all the problems until the next day. Not enough towels and no extra pillows or blankets. We tried to leave by checking out early, since we booked on this website, that wasn't possible. So we ended up paying for 2 hotels.

«Perfect stay in the heart of Houston!»
+My stay at Hotel Ylem was one of the best trips of the last decade! The staff was incredible and the space available for guests was sublime. The lobby area flows into a unique café/bar area where breakfast is served in the mornings. The same area becomes a cocktail lounge in the evenings. I spent many hours here working and communicating with family. The relaxed vibe of the staff made it feel like I lived in the neighborhood and just stopped by to take care of a few things. I don’t want to name all the staff I met, but each provided a unique take on Houston and were kind, courteous, and professional.
−No real critiques. The only things really lacking were very small soft touches that could warm up the feel of the rooms. That said, I appreciated the efficiency of the space and respect the decisions made to minimize cleaning/maintenance costs.

+The hotel was nicely decorated, clean, it was not your typical cookie cutter hotel but had so much character. The staff was EXCELLENT. You can tell they genuinely love where they work and what they do. We had to leave before breakfast but love they they had breakfast included.

«Would not recommend!»
+I liked how close it was to the stadium and places to eat.
−Where do I start! I do an inspection before I settle in my room. I noticed the water pressure was horrible and there were no lamps, tissue, or hangers. I went downstairs to let the front desk know and she switched my room. My second room was more of the same! But I just settled because I was tired and at least the water pressure was better. I stayed for the R&B concert. No information was given to me about parking or shuttle services until after that facts. I was annoyed because my car could’ve been towed without the parking voucher. They also cut off the water in my cousins room because they wanted us out before our checkout time. Don’t offer late checkout if you’re not going to honor it. For the length time I was there (4 days), I wasn’t impressed and I won’t be returning.

«The stay was decent with some mild hiccups»
+Decorations were really cute . All Halloween themed. The property location was nice
−No facial towels. No toilet paper holder . Stood at the front desk for 5 mins until someone came . Brought up that I didn’t have a face towel in my room and the lady goes “oh well the cleaner must’ve been in a hurry” still no apology. Then no streaming television . Straight cable

+The bed was comfortable.
−The top spread was white with yellow stains, the phone didn't work, the room could've been more cleaner, essentially the chair in the room and a lot of things in the room needs to be updated. When checking out I wasn't asked how was my stay or anything.

«Great, clean, secure and welcoming hotel. But not many facilities.»
+Beautiful hotel with fantastic decor. Breakfast was good. Parking was excellent. The staff were amazing. The room was great! Very clean. Good ideas about what to do at reception.
−There wasn’t much around for food and drinks at night (but I think that’s because Houston is so vast). And so, the fact that the bar within the Hotel was also closed most nights was inconvenient. When it was open, it closed at 9pm.
