+It had lots of different areas to enjoy. Nice dining areas where you can be on your own and a beautiful long table if you want to get chatting with others. We have a small dog Bob who was made welcome by staff.
−Lights under bed. Wish could have turned off. Dog and hubby moving and light was on/off a lot but it didn’t ruin my stay.

−Staff not the most.pleasant but did there job not the most welcoming hotel we've stayed at but did the job Noise from room above was bad banging slamming stomping Had to collect.own food when ordered not the best but food order wrong and staff seemed put out but did correct it, quite pricey for what you get though.

−Check-in was handled at the bar, and no staff were available to help with luggage. The room had no telephone, nor was there a front-desk number provided for guests to call from their mobile phones. 2. Rooms Lacking Basic Amenities The rooms lacked many basic amenities, including a safe, slippers, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a bathrobe, and hand lotion. There was no room service, TV operating instructions, or channel guide. 3. Noisy Bar and Disappointing Service The promised complimentary drinks were little more than Kool-Aid with a drop of gin. The bar featured loud DJ music and games seemingly designed to attract local customers and sell alcohol rather than provide a comfortable environment for hotel guests. The seating was shabby and uncomfortable, with mismatched pillows, creating an atmosphere far below what we expected from a Marriott-affiliated hotel. 4. Good Breakfast, Unpleasant Setting Although the breakfast food was good, it was served in the same poorly maintained bar area. The setting was uncomfortable and unsuitable for a relaxing meal or conversation. Tables were often dirty, and guests were expected to clear their own plates and take them to the trash are. 5.Poor Ho

“Lovely hotel, worth the money and amazing staff!”
+We have been wanting to try this hotel out for years, after living in York for uni and walking by it everyday I just loved the look! My boyfriend and I have just got back from a two night stay to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. The hotel was definitely worth every penny! The inside is gorgeous, gives off a moody rustic feel. The staff were lovely at check in and throughout our stay. A new member of staff there was really nice when he was taking our order. He made a delicious iced caramel latte in which it was his first time making. They do a range of drinks and even good food and desserts up till 10pm with late night pizza till 1am which was a nice surprise. The first night we got the 3 plates for £18 and the second night we got a hot fondant and ice cream to share which was delicious ☺️ The room was a good size for the two of us, my boyfriend absolutely loved the decor and a good cup of tea (Yorkshire tea bags). The lotus biscoff biscuits were a nice touch. We didn’t have breakfast booked as we had already planned to go out but by the looks of it, the breakfast was popular and looked delicious. On arrival you also get to claim a free drink of what they have on hand. We completel
−If you aren’t used to a really soft mattress then you may wake up with a sore neck/back Don’t get me wrong, the bed was super soft and was great when sat up watching tv but we did wake up the next day in a bit of discomfort. After walking around York it helped ease the pain and by the second night we were somewhat used to it. Don’t let this discourage you, I’d still recommend the hotel, think we’re just used to our old mattress at home 😅 And my boyfriend has constant back issues anyway. For me it was more of body ache that went away after breakfast.
