“Amazing staff! However more like a 4-star than 5-star hotel when compared to other 5-star hotels in India.”
+We stayed in the DoubleTree for 2 nights while visiting the Taj. The welcome and reception looks luxurious and the staff were so kind and helpful. You feel like you’re entering a palace when you enter the hotel. However the rooms are dated and need work, the drawers don’t close properly, the beds are small (compared to many 5-star hotels we’ve stayed). Also the hairdryer was made to use on a doll, no a women’s hair, it’s ridiculously poor potency and tou have to keep pressing a button for it to work, gave up after 30seconds. The breakfast is fabulous! You can order hot dishes - pancakes, parathas, omeletes etc and they’re done to your liking and brought warm to your table. Fabulous however i’ve learned this is the principle of all 5-star hotels in india. We had dinner also, asked for a la carte because I didn’t think i’d find anything suitable for me and the kids as we don’t eat any spice and they are very picky. Despite asking without any spice, everything came spicy which I didn’t end up eating and the children ate only chips. Compared to many 5-star hotels i’ve stayed in, this one felt more like a 4-star except the service and the luxurious entrance. I’d like to particularly ack
−As above The rooms were dated, the beds were small and not as comfortable. Very little options for kids and adults that don’t eat spicy food at all.

“Very comfortable stay.”
+I had a very comfortable stay. The room was modern, spacious, and clean, with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was decent, and the service was excellent. Overall, a very pleasant stay!
−My only minor complaint would be that the soundproofing wasn't perfect, as some noise from the corridor could be heard. However, it wasn't disruptive and didn't affect my sleep.

“High price for low budget provision.”
+It was quiet and in general the staff were lovely. It was easy to arrange a taxi to the Taj. The pool area was good.
−The most outrageous thing was when we were checking out and were asked to scan a qr code to submit a Google review. Having scanned it the member of staff took my phone and completed a 5* review on my behalf. The buffet food was ok, some of it was low quality and some of it good. Would not do half board again. The breakfast was ok. Pillows were very soft. Thought we might be able to browse the shop but no, the usual hassle. Very minimal tea and coffee and pretty budget stuff.
