„Do not stay at this hotel as it is unsafe.“
+Nothing
−The number of people who were staying at this hotel that were clearly dealing or using drugs and could hardly stand when walking through the lobby to the lifts or shouting and mumbling to themselves. We were evacuated at 10pm and given no information when allowed back into the building. No fire brigade showed up and I was told the next day after I checked out that it was a false alarm. I would never stay here again as I don’t feel safe.

„I had to leave after one night.“
+I like the location as it's near to the Tan and easy to access the city.
−the hotel shares its common spaces, lifts with what appear to be people at risk, people living with addiction and it was frankly scary for a single woman.

+Fantastic view and location.
−Strange setup for cooking. 2 cooktops but no pots or pans? Staff left dishwashing powder in my room instead of dishwashing liquid. Weird wiring for the light switches.

„Cheap, but sadly not cheerful.“
+Location was good, with multiple tram lines right outside the door. Good blackout curtains on the windows.
−Rude and unhelpful man at reception when we checked in. I had submitted a request for an early checkin in received written approval that this would be okay and an extra $50 fee would be payable at the hotel. When we got there, was told that this was not possible, they didn't seem to have ever received our request. Everything was too much trouble for this guy... check in took forever, he wouldn't give us a second key card because it apparently took so long to create one. The room smelt of stale cigarette smoke. We kept the door to the balcony open the whole time but all my clothes now smell of cigarette smoke. There is construction going on next door, so it was really noisy throughout the day. There was also R&B music blaring out of someone's room all day long.

„My review might not sound flattering, but it wasn't too bad.“
+On arrival and during my stay the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with adequate furnishings. If you want to cook you will need to request Fry pans and pots from the kitchen. Location is good, with StKilda road trams just a few metres away.
−The room was a bit musty smelling, which was later confirmed by the 3 moths I found living in the drapes. Whilst the furniture looks inviting, it's not really that comfortable. The price did not reflect enough value for money and the shower is over the bath. (Not good if your not as limber as you used to be.) Overall it was a little too dated for the cost.

+Size of room. Kitchen. Views, balcony. Desk. Had everything. Italian restaurant in as great.
−Was a bit weird having the bathroom door so close to the entry door.
