„A lovely relaxing stay and the the warmest of welcomes from the nicest of staff .“
+With gales force winds, hazardous driving conditions it would have been easy to cancel....but so glad we didn't...the warmest of welcomes , the cozy log fires, the fabulous dinner menu and the perfect full English for breakfast...even a couple of sausages for the dog.....what's not to like ?? The perfect 'get away from it all' location...
−Having to check out !

+Fabulous location right next to the falls. Log fires burning making it super cosy and such lovely friendly staff. The evening meal was delicious and the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We had a 6 month old with us and the staff made our stay easy and enjoyable. We would really recommend a stay at this beautiful hotel.
−Wish we could have stayed longer.

−Some small details eg. stair carpet / runner quite worn, no real ale although promised each day, bathroom waste bin not always emptied

„Not as advertised!“
+The location and the staff.
−We booked a room on Booking.com that was advertised as a King of 50m2, with a fireplace, a seating area and a wardrobe. The room was a single at best, about 20 m2, with no fireplace or wardrobe and one rather tired low chair. Very disappointing.

+Though our room was likely the tiniest (we pack very light and it was a struggle to find a place for our things), we loved the hotel, the staff and the meals (we had both dinner and breakfast). They kindly found a place to store our bikes securely.

+The location was perfect, staff were so friendly and nothing was too much bother. We ate there on evening and the food was delicious. Breakfast too was lovely and very filling.
−Didnt know we could get free admission to Raby Castle as well as the waterfall if staying at the hotel as we would have possibly planned our visit differently.
