+I would like to thank Mrs.Zahra for the warm welcome we received upon our arrival at the hotel, and everything was perfect; all that we needed was provided for us.

“Needs improvement”
+The family was friendly but challenging to communicate with as a non French speaker. The breakfast was a mix of bread and pastries. The room was clean, albeit very very basic.
−Unfortunately it's under construction with unreliable electricity (can't have all lights on simultaneously). WiFi is almost non-existent, only available near the entrance and very slow. They accept cash only, and we were overcharged in end which was disappointing considering the room was already overpriced compared to better options nearby. I wouldn't recommend it until significant improvements are made.

“Exceptional”
+Spectecular views over the valley from the terras. Zaratoustra is a great hideout for exploring the mountains, even with kids after the madness of Marrakech. In the neighbourhood are short and long walks available and Frederic and Habib - running the place - greatly supported us doing so! Frederic was effortless in guiding us to the best spots in the surroundings, which was in the valley next to Imlil. We walked up with him, accompanied by a dog and a goat, to a Cascade with breathtaking views surrounding us. This seems to be a hidden gem. Afterward I did find it on the map: Cascade Lalla Khdija. Go there! No tourist around, just you and possibly a local. Note that this was not the 'Imlil Waterfall', which off course we visited as well, but by ourselves. Afterwards, we rode back through the oasis-like valley with again stunning views. In Imlil we could see the damage of the recent earthquake and the (re)construction work going on. Next to Zaratoustra a walking trail starts leading through the upper part of the Berber village. Very convenient! We stayed in the Auberge-style hotel at the start of November, when the days are warm, but the evening and nights are usually quite cold. Don
−Matresses could be softer. (it looks like they have the same matresses everywhere in Morocco)

“Fred and Zora are lovely people!!”
+This is the best place you could stay, I loved it!! stayed solo for two nights, Frederic and Zora were the most welcoming and kind people. It wasn’t busy (low season), but they had prepared dinner for me and gave me great advice and a 2hr route for hiking the next day. Frederic then kindly took me out with his goat (which I found funny but she’s very cute) on a 3 hour hike over the mountain and showed me a lovely village while explaining the story. Room was clean, and the building was given a lot of love and very well looked after. Thank you Fred and Zora! I’ll be back!
