+It is located across the bridge from the popular restaurant district. We found it extremely easy to get to. The staff greeted us warmly and were extremely helpful. The breakfast was incredible and was the cherry on top for our experience. The only advice I have to share is that there are many mosquitos in the garden (can’t be helped) and to be ready for breakfast 30 minutes before your time.

“One of the Highlights of Our Trip”
+Staying at Ryokan Yoshi-Ima was honestly one of my favorite parts of our time in Kyoto. The staff was so warm and attentive, truly some of the best service we experienced on our whole trip. They made us feel so welcome from the start. Our room was spacious, super comfortable, and had such a calming vibe. The traditional touches made it feel really special, but it was also cozy and easy to settle into. Breakfast each morning was so lovely, beautifully presented and really delicious. The garden area was such a peaceful escape. It’s hard to believe you're in the middle of the city with how quiet and serene it felt. And speaking of location, it couldn’t have been more convenient, easy to walk to so many places we wanted to visit, but still tucked away enough to feel relaxing. For everything that’s included, I thought it was a great value. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a more traditional and memorable Kyoto experience.

“A little gem and a wonderful experience.”
+A true Japanese experience. A wonderful little hotel that gives you an insight to the Japanese culture. It was basic (in Japanese style) but had everything you needed, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I was worried about sleeping on a futon but had the best nights sleep all holiday. The dinner experience was good although was very rushed, the food was being brought out far too quickly and there was a lot of it. It was lovely and very appealing to look at. The hotel was in a lovely spot very close to the high street with bars.

“Incredible experience”
+Best place to do and experience a ryokan. Service was so good and attentive when it came to our tea and our traditional Japanese breakfast she walked us on how to eat everything. It was amazing

+This was our first stay in a ryokan, sleeping on traditional tatami mats and futons. Staff brought breakfast to our rooms in the morning, it was delicious and a nice cultural experience. The room was large and spacious, along with the bathroom. A great stay in kyoto and I definitely recommend!

+Fantastic Ryokan if you want an authentic Japanese hotel experience. It takes a little getting used to for the slipper swap but it just adds to the authenticity. Also be ready for breakfast 30 min before your requested time.
